What demons do you play? a specific god?, a combo? all of them?
and demons is a cool army i can see y you picked them but it takes some experience before playing them right off the bat and isnt as easy as starting with sm... so dont get overwhelmed if you can't play a game "right"
everything in the demon codex comes from ds right?

Bloodcrushers are extremely intimidating, and though they can do a fair bit of damamge, their mere presence can be enough to turn your game around. You want to put them down in a position that will encourage your opponent to make risky decisions in trying to get away.
Flamers are often one-shot wonders, and killing power armour on a 4+ with templates is just a terrifying thing to behold. Like crushers, though, they are expensive, and since you need to position them so well for effectiveness, it's a good idea the use minimum sized units so that mishaps can be avoided, and are less of an investment to lose.
Hmm... cbf writing more atm. Daemons are an interesting technical army that can be very powerful... and can shoot themselves in the feet.

Focus on learning the basics of the game before you worry too much about your list.

Really? Ok, what is the one situation in which a unit is allowed to move through another model? Note: skimmers, jetbikes, and jump infantry moving *over* other models does not count.

Don't expect to always win or even win 1/2 of the time when you are just starting out. There has been posts from people who play A Lot of games and have never won.
This is a generic beginner helper.
When I make a army list, I list the unit stats, (WS,BS ect) Wargear and special abilities. On the bottom of the page, I list all weapons and their stats. All the information is on the army list sheet. There is nothing for me to look up, except maybe some game rules.

No need to quiz him... Automatically Appended Next Post: Looks like you're trying for a Khorne-themed army. Kudos, I'm quite a fan of themed armies myself.
I'm not -too- familiar with Demons, but I'll give what help I can.
From what I know, Khornate demons are all CC-focused. So it'll be like my old Tyranid list; the first couple of turns it will look like you're losing, and then you crash into his lines and tear things up.
What you need to do is minimize the damage in those first couple of turns. He can't shoot at you while you're in combat, and you're going to do pretty well once you're there.
Terrain. Cover. A bunch of it. Use it to your advantage. Don't march across an open field and expect to make it to the other side. Jump from forest to ruins to walls, keeping your opponent from getting a clear shot at you, until it's too late and you're right up in his face.
I'd take another Bloodcrusher, as 2 of something tends to just get shot to pieces, or can't do enough damage to get things done. And probably get the Hounds up to 6 or 8. But this is without having much experience with the army.
Otherwise it looks like an okay place to start.
The trick is to realize what your army's weaknesses are, and then play to minimize them. The lack of shooting thing is a prime example of this.
For more in-depth help, I leave it to the Demon players.

Okay, I'll tkae a shot at this one. Things to be aware of when playing Chaos Daemons (bear in mind, this is from someone who only read the codex once):
Strengths--
1. Lots of characters. Your army can include up to four heralds or two seriously powerful greater daemons if you desire. And your characters are powerful. Skulltaker is a supreme assassin, and Epidemius is unbelievably effective in a game larger than 1500 points, especially if your army includes a plethora of nurgle models.
2. Deep strike! Your army arrives wherever you want it to - on objective, right next to enemy artillery, anywhere on the board. You're going to want to build your list to take advantage of your relative maneuverability in this regard. Your shooters can start well away from the enemy if you want them to, and your heavy hitters can be right in the middle of the melee. What this means is that you should tailor your force to a "choose your battles" style of play. Provided your rolls are good, you will almost always have the tool for the job you need to do - it's going to all be a matter of placement.
3. Invulnerable. Be aware that since your units cannot have their saves ignored, your opponent essentially has no other choice than to whittle down your units the old fashioned way--pure brute force. This means that when going after enemy units, you'll need to prioritize. Taking out enemy anti-infantry weaponry (large blasts and high rate-of-fire weapons like scatter lasers) might actually be a priority. Conversely, your army can survive a lascannon or a bright lance just fine. It's a nuisance--nothing more. Your invulnerable saves will deal with it just fine. Likewise, you can just giggle at enemy power weapon wielders (sorry, banshees), unless you're fielding tons of nurgle units (since FNP gets ignored by power weapons).
4. Fearless. This is going to mean that you will only lose a unit if the opponent kills every last one of them. Use this to your advantage. Fight as many battles in melee as possible (unless you play tzeentch, your shooting is pretty terrible anyway). Always have a few cheap-but-resilient units that you can use to tie up enemy heavy shooting--once again, most nurgle units are good for this.
5. Bloodletters and bloodcrushers. They're just excellent units. Use them.
Weaknesses--
1. Deep Strike! Always be aware that unless your army is flooded with icons, which at 25-points each, just might not be worth it, you're going to misdeploy a few units. Your odd deployment also means that you're never going to start the game with your entire army on the field, so your list will need to have flexibility to compensate for this.
2. Invulnerable. This manifests itself as a weakness in the sense that you're never going to have armor saves. Coupled with fearless, this means that if you start losing combats, be prepared to lose the unit--only khorne models can survive losing a melee by more than a wound or two.
3. Crap shooting. No way around it. Your shooting is pretty awful, unless you're really dedicated to it. Mush easier to go melee, IMHO.
Hope this helps you get started. That's all I can think of off the top of my head.

Bloodcrushers are just beasts in CC. But I more meant that if you have a unit of just 2 of anything you're just asking for it to get wiped out too easily.
As for there not being a lot of coverage? Well, make some! Be sure to bring some! Otherwise, it's just going to be frustrating for you.
Listen to Samael, though, he certainly seems to know about what he's talking!

OK, thank you for that, best info any one has given me.
I have:
1 Soul Grinder1 Skulltaker
20 Bloodletters
and I am buying a Bloodcrusher in the next few weeks.
Is that enough for a battle or do i need a bigger force?

At the very least, you need 1 HQ choice (I believe Skulltaker will do), and two squads of Troops (split the Bloodletters into two chunks). So it looks like you have that handled.
Figure out if you can get it up to 500 points with what you have, and then just play against others with 500 point armies until you get more, since that's a nice starting army size.
As for the Bloodcrusher, wait a few weeks, as I believe they're coming out with boxed sets of plastic ones very soon, so you'll get more for much cheaper.
You'll want to get a unit of Bloodcrushers, probably some Hounds (maybe led by Karanak), and a Bloodthirster, if you want to go all-out Khorne with it. Perhaps a Herald (in addition to Skulltaker), maybe on a Juggernaut (or put Skulltaker on a Juggernaut) and let one of them lead your Bloodcrushers. Maybe another Soulgrinder, or preferably a Khorne Demon Prince. Probably some more Bloodletters down the line, make it like 4 units of them instead of 2, for larger games.
But all of this is to pad out the army for later. I'd say you have a good starting force, once you figure out how many points you have there.

Fer
fate crusher is generally considered the strongest build. it runs a bunch of blood crushers and fateweaver, as you may have guessed.
I like skaarbrand alot. he's a killer in cc and since demons are 3/4 a close combat army you will benefit from it at least as much as the opponent does, often times more. even better he scares the piss out of the bad guys.
he also solves a big problem for demon players: dealing with transports. even if you need 6's to hit them, when you roll 25+ attacks and get to reroll on top of that you're going to get some damage through. This to me is better than taking fragile and overcosted soul grinders.
the greater demon of nurgle is the ultimate tar pit.
don't rely on tzeentch shooting they're pretty sad at it.
demon princes are overpriced don't buy them unless you're planning to stomp your opponent with all monstrous creatures, like fateweaver skarbrand and 3 demon princes with mark of tzeentch moving forward as a block. alot of players just couldnt handle that.
good luck that codex is tough.

forgeworld sells a pretty cool khorne demon prince. that's what I use for skarbrand... if you assemble a blood thirster with no wings and 2 axes that too would make sense. the new demon prince kit comes with a gigantic axe that would be perfect.
fatecrusher is an army build. fate crusher is short for fate (weaver and blood) crusher(s). it was good for high level competition for a while but it's not used much anymore. the army works by using fateweaver to bolster 24 blood crushers. bloodcrushers are kind of hard to kill on their own, with fateweaver letting them reroll their saves they get even harder. They're also really good in close combat so the army basically just stomps them with a massive formation of unkillable and extremely lethal blood crushers. if you're just playing casually it's kind of a rude build bc played correctly you'll just stomp 90% of the people you play and there isnt a whole lot they can do about it. it all depends on the level of competition you're used to. I wouldn't run it for friendly games. I just wanted you to know it existed so if you need to you can pull out the big gunz....

Answer in case you were curious:
Quizzing him is fairly unnecessary and only serves to alienate the one we should be helping by accusing him of not knowing the rules. No offense intended but it just didn't seem to be fully appropriate.
On topic, I don't know enough about how Daemons run that I think I should give much advice. So I can't really help out there, sorry.

If he doesn't know the rules, or at least where to look things up in the book, then he doesn't have the basic knowledge necessary to make good decisions for himself, in either list-making or game play.

I have to say you do come across as slightly holier-than-thou here willy. This forum is for helping people expand and grow their skills as gamers. Firing random questions at people without actually contributing to the topic at hand just makes you seem...well...a bit of an arse.
I understand what your saying, but its the way your going about demonstrating your point that I'm not a fan of. Throwing rules questions at people and then replying with what seemingly amounts to 'learn to play.' isn't the most constructive form of feedback I could envisage.
