Afternoon ladies and gentlemen - I need your help!

Currently working on a scratchbuilt techpriest for my traitor guardsmen so there's someone to patch up their cliché rusty tanks. However I can't decide which way to go with the base size.

Originally I started out with a 40mm base as the track unit is pretty big and it accommodates the model well. However it does detract a touch from the size and leaves him not looking too threatening.

Thought I would just blu-tac him to a regular sized base and see how it looked and now I can't decide which looks best. On the one hand (or drill) it looks too big on the smaller base, whilst on the other you get more of a sense of the size of the model on the small base which kinda gives him more of an imposing look.

What does everyone else think?

I think he'd look fine a bit more centred on the 40mm base, the 25mm is overcrowded imo, and makes an awesome model look a bit silly.

I think the 40mm looks fine. If he gets around on a tracked torso then he's termy sized

yup, definitely the 40mm. if you search through this forum and YMDC, you'll find a few discussions on the legality. you could *theoretically* run into TFG who refuses to allow you to play on a nonstandard base despite the coolness of the conversion. at a minimum to foil his plans, i would somehow on the 40mm base try to mark where the original (and technically only legal regular one) would end in each direction. maybe four tiny gears spaced out around the model on the "ground" as terrain?
