4am and cant sleep, so might aswell work out a decent list lol.

Thinking about running a clan moulder list, but wanted dakka's opinion on the best way to run rat ogres.
Mainly i wanted to know the best unit size (was thinking about 4x0 or 3x2)

Also, what upgrades are worth taking?

since i get 2 units as core choices thanks to throt (who wont be leading any ogres due to being unpredictable) and 3 units for special, ive got 5 to run with for now.
Army size will be 2,500 points.

was thinking about taking a master moulder in each unit for the added punch.
Also, one unit will be led by a skaven warlord on bonebreaker, so i was thinking about adding skweel to that unit to further boost its potential.

Thoughts?

Don't forget that in the FAQ, the Master Moulder is a Champion in all respects, and so has to go in the front rank. That exposes them somewhat, compared to the "hidden" packmasters.

How to run rat ogres? why run them at all, ratties are so cheap just lose the ogres and get another block or three of lil guys.

Infamous - That would defeat the whole purpose of running a clan moulder list.
And a single unit of rat ogres also works as a much better hammer unit than 3 tarpit units.

Butcha - havent read the faq yet, but i guess ill have to after that.
Kind of ruins it a bit.

I really would only run rat ogres with skweel and hope for regen.. Ive just been so dissapointed with my rat ogres. The total lack of armor really hurts them since if they do just 3 wounds to a unit of 6 they cant negate ranks and while their attacks are good.. its not all that amazing

If you buff them up with blessed with filth and then also get regen maybe

Actually a unit of 8 ran 3 wide with a Master-Bred and a Warlord on Bonebreaker with Skweel works very well, and incredibly well if you roll regen. The extra attack isnt so great, but if you roll poison you can then give them poison on a 5+ with the 2nd plague spell.\

Expencive, but effective.

I hate hard counters. In a game of rock, paper, scissors, I hate playing any of the factions because no matter what you choose you might as well not deploy against your hard counter. I want to use a gun. Rock, paper, and scissors could all probably still beat gun, but gun will never feel like a game is a lost cause.
