Just something I wanted to put up. I just used the most generic races I could think of.

Also, this isn't just for Warhammer, you can use reasons from different fantasy settings.

Being a Dwarf would be the gak. Motivated only by beer,women and my forge. And of cource incredibly stubborn and tough.

Where's the "Other" option?

Gonna have to say human mainly from my D&D experience, extra feat at lvl 1, extra skill points and in 4th they got some more cool powers.

I guess, I could put a "other, please state" on it.

Orks, because they can be used as the quintessential bad guys in D&D campaigns. (Undead would be a close second for the same reason).

Dark Elf/Drow female, alongside the wife, we'd be a fething evil pair I tell you.

I've always been partial to humans in any fantasy or sci-fi setting. I just relate to my own kind better than I do to zombies, Orcs, robots, or what have you. Now whether they're good humans or evil humans, that's always up in the air

I picked other, which for me would be the skaven.

Elves, elegant and wise far beyond human capabilities.

Play some Dwarf Fortress (if you can figure out the interface) and you might disagree. The little hairy things are ruled by greed, they are!

I'm not really a fantasy person to begin with. I'll take starships and laser fire over dragons and spells any day.

That said, I tend to gravitate towards Half-Elves. Both because I like to think they have the best of both worlds, and because, at least in the DnD setting, they always have to make this big choice about where they want to fit in and who the want to be, a theme that interests me.

For WHFB, I've picked high elves, but that's probably because they're the only army that appeals to me aesthetically. It's really hard for me to care about any army for that system when I'm still so infatuated with Space Wolves and just the 40K universe as a whole.

Like I said, I love my Space Wolves, but unfortunately, I've yet to see anywhere where they translate well into a fantasy setting. There are some similarities to Dwarves, but making my beloved Wolves into ass-high drunkards is an injustice. Barbarians might seem a logical choice, but they are usually portrayed as evil and simply brutish, a sharp contrast to the cunning and altruistically just way in which I imagine the Space Wolves to be.

in WHFB, i am working on an Ogre Kingdoms army.. partly because the models look sweeter than sugar, partly because the fluff is pretty ridiculous, and partly because i dont need very high numbers of models to play them.

I was recruited by my wife into a D&D campaign, and am playing a Goliath. While reading the racial backgrounds, i felt that the race fairly well suited my own personality traits (as i am highly competitive myself)

Don't play Fantasy, but the race I would if I ever started would be Vampire Counts.

I enjoy the tactical aspect of having garbage troops and Elite Commanders.

Orcs, i like the goblins...

I chose Orcs because I do rather like them, but I like goblins and Skaven much more. If they made Space Skaven I'd have a new 40k army to be excited about.

Whilst my favourite army is the Lizardmen, at heart I'm a Skaven. Three main reasons:
1). I'm a very twitchy and nervous person.
2). I cannot ever take the blame for my own actions. Yeah, yeah, I'm a bad person.]
3). I run away. A lot.

Why, human of course.
