Still struggling with a paint scheme for my army. Its based around khorne but I didnt want to do the ussual red and gold. I thought of just doing plack and gold but thats a pretty common paint for chaos marines.

I did a few marines with an off white and gold and while I liked it just didnt fit.

At a lose i dug threw all the chaos and marine books and ran across the blood disciples. It fits khorne very well but not sure how to get that bronze color onto my models.

So once agian I am looking for someone to give me a step by step as to what would give me a good look. As well as how to go about painting it on tanks.

I am also a bit lost on the color for the trim. I was thinking just going with black but if someone has a better idea feel free to speak up.

Can't you see we have been abandoned? Forget matters of duty and honor to the emperor this is now a matter of pride.

Check out the tutorials section, there's been a few articles lately about getting good gold with washes over non-gold metallics. As far as tanks go, you'll probably have to blend :(

Really easy bronze:
Prime black
Base coat tin bitz
Wash with thinned turquoise or a green
Drybrush with bronze
Edge highlight with bright brass or gold

For tanks, too much metallic can look really gaudy. I would use your trim color as the dominant color and use bronze on insets and trim. Alternately, use bronze, but dirty it up alot with washes and stippled corrosion, mud, and gore which will dull down the overall effect.

This is a really good example of weathered metal: http://coolminiornot.com/166293
More iron than bronze (iron oxidizes to yellow or orange whereas bronze, being a copper alloy, patinas green), but gives you an idea.

Black would make a good trim color with bronze. Kind of the inverse of the Black Legion colors.

Here is another example with black weathered metal: http://coolminiornot.com/75643

Nothing ever wrong with lots of metal, depends on your style. My whole army is wearing dirty gold armor edged in blackened steel
