Hi
I'm now starting build "Alpha Legion(AL)" themed CSM army.
But I feel like to add some cult marines. For me,Berzerkers.
They use cult marines,right?
From fluffy view how should I add them?
1.Normal Berzerker with AL Colored shoulder pad
2.Normal Berzerker with AL colored armor but red helmet.
3.Normal Berzerker painted red. (It is like AL rent soldier from World Eater?)
4.Converted Berkerker it looks like AL legionary but Khorne devotee
Which is best way to field them?
If exist in story,Let me know how they field Cults.
And Is there any Daemon Prince of Alpla Legion? Is there any story about him?
I want to know about it too.

I think option 3 sounds the most fitting IMO. One of the key tenets of the Alpha Legion is being in control and I just don't see this fitting with the mindlessness of being a berzerker or the cult of Slaanesh.

Alpha Legion should be avoiding the dedication of their own troops to a particular god and contract out the work of specialists like Khornate Berserkers.
So yeah, option 3.

I'm of the opinion that Alpha Legion have very little to do with "Chaos" at all.
I used to field a pure Marine and Cultist force, with the Cultists bringing in the Daemons.
The Legion certainly uses the other marines who've become tools and puppets, but would succumb themselves.
So, yeah, #3 if you're going Chaos, or something entirely different if you're staying 'loyalist'.

Actually you can paint them whatever color you want. THANKFULLY! the fluff is drifting away from khorne berzerkers = world eaters or plague marines = death guard. You can become a plague marine threw just dedicating yourself to nurgle and he sharing his gifts. The same can be said for khorne berzerkers. You just need to split a few skulls for khorne and he will grant you the gifts to be a khorne berzerker.
You dont HAVE to be a part of the world eaters to be granted the ranks of a zerker. They were just the first ones to gain it. Same can be said for plague marines and noise marines.
1k sons of course is a special case.

Thx for replies.
I go with Option 3.

Anyone know about "daemon prince"?

Alpha legion, like the night lords, dont really side with Chaos, they just dont side with the emperor. As such overt dedication to a single god is not cool with them. Fluff basis you should probably avoid bezerkers entirely, as they dont fit with the alpha legions infiltration / stealth background (getting bezerkers to shut up? not a chance..) that well.
AS for a Daemon Princes, lexicanum only gives two:
Sindri Myr - Sorcerer, Daemon Prince (dec.)
Kernax Voldorius - Daemon Prince (dec.)
Suggesting both are dead...

..insomuch as you can kill a daemon prince anyway.
just for interests sake...
http://www.blacklibrary.com/Warhammer-40000/Space-Marine-Battles/Hunt-for-Voldorius-The.html
Captain Kor'sarro Khan of the White Scars is petitioned by his Chapter Master to hunt down and destroy the daemon prince Voldorius, a warleader of the renegade Alpha Legion, thus ending his reign of terror across the stars. Hunting the beast doggedly for over a decade, Kor'sarro finally brings Voldorius to battle on Quintus, a world that has totally given itself over to the Alpha Legion. Together with their Raven Guard allies, the White Scars must fight an entire planet if they are to slay the daemon prince
Alpha Legion and Raven Guard... guess Mr. Alpharius will be picking that one up then.

Ha!
I will be there - for certain!
Though it pains me that BL/GW can't start to get a bit more consistent with the Alpha Legion stuff.
To be fair, LEGION is relatively recent so there is that...
I suspect they will end up being very much like Night Lords, with some of the weaker willed members of the Legion succumbing to Chaos and being reviled and mocked by their betters!

Having just finished Legion (yes, I know... behind the times...) I could imagine certain parts of the legion being specifically tasked with going too far on purpose and gaining daemonhood, for the greater good. I would imagine the other legions wouldn't look ever so kindly on a legion that says it's turned, but doesn't have any mutations, daemon princes or patrons to back up their claims; at least to start with.
Legion did make me want to start an AL force based upon the Vraks list; though it could have done with a "specialists" unit or two in the list too.

There is a very good story that I read about the fall of the imperium. It had major characters from the alpha legion in it. The explanation they provided was the best one i could find. In it, the members of the Alpha Legion are allowed to use any weapon as long as they maintain their loyalty to the Legion and the Emperor. This includes having Alpha Legion daemon princes. But anyone truely loyal to chaos is a traitor to the legion. I will post a link if someone wants it.

Its a pretty long story but it is well worth the read. The author has perfect knowledge of the background and uses nearly every major special character.

This discussion is absurd. The mental gymnastics on display here are appalling. The combat familiar gives the DP two attacks with a specific profile. The special rule modifies the DP's attacks, no matter how it got those attacks. The CF's attacks are at AP 2. Anything else is stupid. |

The only way I could see any "good" Alphas was that, in let's say a sequel to Legion, it's revealed that Alpharius and Omegon have a split themselves. One goes traitor and one does not (kindof a Luthor-Lion thing). I could see that splitting the legion down the middle. So there would really be two Alpha Legions (an Alpha and Omega if you will). However, until I see a single instance of The Legion actually helping an Imperial army fighting against Chaos I'll never believe it.

Well then, you're just as duped as the rest of the Imperium then!
Clearly the point is still up in the air, as LEGION ends on a bit of a cliff hanger, in terms of the Legion's plans and ultimate motivations.
And I've been saying all along that Alpharius and Omegon are going to end up on opposite sides of a schism.
Just like I've been saying that BEFORE the events in LEGION, it was almost a certainty that Alpharius was still alive - and ironically AFTER the events depicted in LEGION, he might not be!
