Why does this guy keep getting roles? Is he just a younger version of Ben Stiller? The guy plays the same character in EVERY MOVIE. His newest movie looks like a deep fried turd. What say Dakka?

People like these kinda stories because they're inspirational or something. Poor shy kid gets the girl, etc.

Personally, I could care less. Don't hate it, don't like it, just don't give a feth personally. You see one Micheal Cera movie, you've seen 'em all.

Some people play to win, some people play for fun. Me? I play to kill toy soldiers.

I have tried to watch movies with the new crop of hot young stars (Michael Cera, Jonah Hill, Jay Baruchel) and mostly I just can't. The only one whose work I was able to sit through was Jay Baruchel in The Wizard's Apprentice and How to Tame your Dragon, and the latter was just tolerable because it was animated and I didn't have to see his constant pigeon-like head bobbing. Michael Cera reminds me of Woody Allen, and the only actor I hate more than Woody Allen is Adam Sandler. Compared to them, Hayden Christensen is a master thespian.

Whats his newest movie? The one where he fights 112 evil exes or something?

Cos that looked like it would be a good movie to switch off to and drink everytime there was a biff bam wallop type comic effect, much like the Old Batman stuff

Well, you are in Japan. Maybe on some Japanese poo porno cases.

You know, for me it has become the formulaic approach to movie making that is modern Hollywood. Plots have become rehashed 5 or 6 times *cough* Avatar *cough* and yet it puts butts in the seats.

The only role I have ever seen where he isnt the nerdy virgin was when he was the alter ego of his nerdy virgin character....

Not a big fan of any of the guys around playing the awkward nerdy whatever else roles. They're all pretty much the same character. Just another plot to beat the gak out of untill it stops making money i guess.

I guess deep fried turd is a vague description. This movie is a pile of detritis.

I get annoyed, but I still find the movies funny. I get annoyed because once one actor is like that and successful, then a few more will pop up, and then yuou get their movies mixed up because you swear one was in one movie, when infact it was his clone that isnt quite as believable as the real guy but you just dont care kind of thing.

For the longest time I thought it was him in Adventureland, but alas, I was just confusing the confused actors lol
I loved him in Zombieland......oh wait there I go again.

That wasn't him in Zombieland?

That's awesome then because I can now say that I don't like ANY of his movies.

I like adam sandler though, Billy Madison and Lucky Gilmore were great movies.

No, that wasn't him in Zombieland. That was Jesse Eisenberg. They're similar, but I definitely find Jesse more tolerable.

The only film with Michael Cera in it that I even liked was Superbad, and it definitely wasn't because of him.

See it, Zombieland is just a wonderful movie. Sure, Jesse Eisenburg plays an awkward loser, but he's an awkward loser who kills zombies with a shotgun. Besides, you can hardly blame him for being 'late to the party' when his first ever potential conquest tried to eat him alive, and after that there was a zombie apocalypse...

He was awesome in 'Superbad'. 'Arrested Development' is quality, and he's really good in that too.

I like him.

One of my deepest unmanly shames is that I like rom-coms... 50 First Dates is one of my favorites. (I really liked Good Luck Chuck too, and it seems virtually everyone on Earth hates that movie... )

I love Reign Over Me so much. I tend to hate Sandler's comedic movies, but when he does serious, he can do it so well (Spanglish wasn't great, but Adam Sandler still managed to do a good job). It's a shame everyone only remembers his comedies.

Michael Cera's not a bad actor, or at least, as far as we've seen, but what we've seen is so very limited. Honestly, I'd like to see him in some other roles. Hopefully when he's older, he stops getting filled into the same movie every time, because I'd like to think he has potential.

And for the record, Scott Pilgrim looks interesting. The trailers remind me a lot of No More Heroes, and I loved the story behind that game. Of course, it probably won't have the whole social commentary thing that NMH had down so well, but it looks fun at least.
