I'm thinking of doing a small diorama with a few CSM units. I'm not solid on the idea of what I want to do yet but I'm already starting to draw out ideas. If you guys have any tips, ideas, anything at all, let me know. I'm hoping to sort of hit this thing running.

I had never thought of that one, actually. I think I may just do that one.

How about adding imperial Guard P.O.W's being sacrificed to summon the demon.it would be cool to see that as a diorama imo

The demon summoning is the way to go! I think that would make for a great diorama. I'm really looking forward to some wips.

Ok, a quick update. I've spent most of today drawing out some ideas. I (as of right now) have a few really good idea (mostly ideas from you guys) on where I want this to go. Right now, I'm looking at a small squad of CSM sacrificing a IG squad. I'm thinking of turning a Rhino into a 'mobile sacrificial alter'. Now, this is all WIP in my head and on paper right now but I'd like to know what you guys think before I start to do anything.

This sounds like a really neat project to be doing here are a few things i would add if i was to do this type of diorama :

1. I would put the mark of Khorne scratched into some of the Imperial gaurdsman's armour a bit like what you see on Forgeworld with the traitor guard on there.

2. When painting the diorama i would think that if you painted the eyes of the gaurdsman pink or red with quite extreme highlights in a glowing effect it would help to emphasize ( correct me if i spelt that wrong) the fact that the gaurdsman are possessed and are being sacrificed.

3 Seeing as its a chaos diorama i think that it would be necessary that there is some spikes and maby some chains to set the scene as you wanted it.

Hope this helps ~UnDeAd~

Thanks for the input. I don't know which God I want to give them up to or if I want to do CU. Still sketching it out.

Yeah i just meant like the mark of the army you have chosen scratched into the armour of the gaurdsman would look pretty cool , i just said Khorne because when i thought of demon summoning i thought of the blood god and all that .

I think khrone would be the easiest to work on. cause the only thing it seems you need to bring a daemon into the realm is just blood and skulls.and a mobile alter/rhino would be awesome

you could also make a Word bearer Dark Apostle reading from the book of Lorgar to several devoted CSM

Thanks for the inputs. I'm hope this converts as well as I'd like it to. I'm not too knowledgeable about Khorne. Doesn't he have followers that are part man and part machine or was that a different God? Living metal or something like that?

Quick update: I'm altered my main idea a bit to make the summoning just a little more Khorne-ish. I'm having to re-work my sketches but I'll try and get a pic or two up on what I've got in my head here in the next few days.

The one thing I've got in my head of how I think a summoning would go is that the sacrifice has a Warp Rift created in his or her body and, through this, the Daemons of the Warp come though to the real world. Please, correct me if I'm wrong as this is the main aspect I'm trying to convey.

Maybe have three IG laying on the ground in a row in a puddle of blood, sinking into a rift with 3 priests behind them with bloody knives and one priest to the side with a book in one hand and the other in the air like he is chanting.

I was thinking of a couple of reg IG laying, headless, mark of Khorne scratched into their armor, in a pool of blood, next to the alter where their heads sit while the Sgt/Squad leader IG is being used to summon Daemons.

sounds like a really cool concept you got there , what might be cool is if you used the clear rod of a see through flying base and make the commander of the guardsman sort of levetating and maby have his arms hanging as if he is mid process of being unconcious.

Hope this may help a bit ~ UnDeAd~

I was thinking of using chains and a sort of 'alter/spike' thing to hold him up.

Yeah that sounds better more resembling a sacrifice / summoning. Looking foward to seeing so WIP of this project.

So, here is the vid where I talk about the WIP of the summoning I'll be doing. There's a lot of rambling, like always. Sorry about that guys.

Well, damn. My check didn't get here. They're claiming it's "in transit" which means that it's somewhere out there and we don't ahve a damned clue. May take longer then I thought to get this going.

Nice sketches you got there , helped me to picture how you wanted this diorama to be rather than us just keep popping in the suggestions . Also i think the idea of the Bloodcrusher of Khorne is a really good idea , and you are lucky as GW are just realeasing a platics kit for these which will be a lot eaiser to model unlike the metal ones !

Keep us updated on any progress that you make , also if you make any more youtube vids please post them up here

Take care.

So, I've reworked my Rhino to have the back 'open' so that the sacrifice can be placed on a 'bleeder spike' and the blood will drain down the spike and into a 'blood pit'. I'm working out a few other things but that's the main change in the design.

Cool , just checked out your new vid , you mentioned a water effects that would be easy to use , GW actually make their own water effects dont know if you have seen it but it is really easy to use and you can change the colour really easily by using different colour inks only a couple drops would change it just fine.

Also the new sketches that you have drawn are a really big improvement on the last ones , think the idea is really coming together now.

Keep us updated and thanks again for the link .

So, the Rhino has gotten just a little more work done on paper and I'm pleased. I will be using a new GW DP for two reasons; they will be plastic and I'll have plenty of bits when I'm done. I'm still trying to think of the best way to have my DP come out of my sacrifice. I'm thinking a sort of blood/warp rift in his chest. Any other ideas?

Sounds good mate , if i was to make him come out of a IG gaurdsman it would probablt be best to insert a wire into the front of the guardsmans armour and bend it so that it is pointing towards the sky. After the greenstuff around it to make a sort of flame / blood pattern and mold this onto the GW DP , could work but i am not too sure.

Hope this helps.
