I found a cave system below my fortress O'Doom, and mined it out, found a dirt wall that leads into someone's cave system (there are torches every so often), but...

It's full of creepers and other mobs, because there's an area around X (-104) Y (34) Z (-81) where you can't alter anything.

Try and put up a lantern? Poof, back in your inventory.
Same with trying to build a wall.
Try and mine the iron ore you can see on the floor? Doesn't drop anything when destroyed, then poof! the block re-appears.
The creepers can still kill you though.

Any ideas on how to stop it?
short of sealing off the entire mine section, because I found quite a useful bit nearby with lava and redstone and coal, but loadsa mobs because of the proximity to the area where you can't change anything.

hmm well the only thing I can think of is extreme lag, or there's a server my brother joined which means when you enter something or other, that area can only be changed by you, but I think that was put in place by the MODs.

I had a construction half finished around where your brandywine is from before you started brandywine. So don't you go destroying that cobble structure. I'm gonna replace that cobble with a stone floor and wooden walls and a wood slab roof whenever I get back on minecraft.

That would be part of hte natural cave system that I dug through on the way to Gooda's unless I'm mistaken.

It is on the top of a mountain, sticking off of one side of a cliff. There's a sign that clearly indicates it's mine.

when did you put that up? Me and Vinnie looked around for signs and saw none.

I put that sign on it when I finally realized that you had built your little town right underneath it, which was a few days ago.

Well to be fair when we started digging brandywine hall, there was just this tiny cobblestone platform hanging out of nowhere, with sign or note. So I thought it was a project that got abandoned or something. Especially since no-one seemed to be willing to build there after three entire days.

I even tried to remove it today, but I saw your panel and I left it. Don't wanna piss off Mel.
