Great work again sir, right proper Nurgly. Nerdy's inspiration has rubbed off well, you did a brilliant job. Really love that tentacle with a fist on the end holding a club, really gross ion the best way.

Following on from last week's heretical theme, today I've jumped 10,000 years back in time and two legions across and put together this guy because.... well, just because!

Body from a CSM Lord, arms from Cataphractii, head from a Space Wolf, Sedition Wars base (they are really cool, I really must de-base all my unpainted SedWars stuff and put them to better use! ). Not the fanciest kitbash, but I quite like the composition overall.

That's all for now, as always thanks for looking, any thoughts welcome! Also, just need a couple more votes on that Nurgle marine to see a score, so if anyone can take a moment to throw a vote his way that'd be much appreciated!

Really well done Para. Love the normal power fist vs. the clawed one.

Cheers guys!

Quick poll, anyone got a Legion they want to see me tackle? I've got another HH Marine painted up and no idea what Legion to go with. I've done EC, Death Guard and SoH recently, but other than those I'm open to anything. It's a fairly static model with a chainaxe (could be swapped for a chain/power sword) and a big shield if that helps.

He looks very cool Para

I'd like to see a Thousand Son, I have ideas for mine but would be interested to see your take on them.

Angron's legion... World Eaters. Perfect for a chain axe.

Perfect for your gritty style too.

Considering the base model was a WE Rampager, that might be a rather fitting choice.... Though he'd also make a cool Space Wolf... decisions decisions...

Traitors are cooler...

Now a traitor Space Wolf? That would be coolest of all.

Space wolves just dont really do it for me. White/blue WE with some cool blood effects though, I can get into that.

Did someone cry 'Havoc'?

My attempt to tick the Gits/Whaley-approved boxes! A bit World Eater, but with a Wolfy twist, possibly traitor. Also pretty unusual, you don't see the pre-Primarch schemes that much and Warhounds (pre-Angron WE for those not in the know) colours are pretty darn cool.

As always, cheers for looking, any thoughts welcome!

My only gripe, if you can call it that, is that I think you'd have to explain that it isn't a space wolf.

I like it. Love the idea of the pre-primarch legions. Very, very clever of you. Love the gritty realism you achieve and the pose is awesome.

I don't think he looks too Wolfy actually, and even if it did it's no baby blue wolves. Darker blue-grey suit the Wolves much more anyway. Well done Para, love the pose.

Ohh, that's lovely! I do think that SW trophy on top of his backpack is that tiny bit too much wolfiness for me

Thanks all!

@KrautScientist: High praise indeed from the guru of World Eaters! Cheers!

Something very different today, back over to the AoS side of things with this Stormcast Liberator I found in my 'to paint' box. I initially wanted to use it as a test piece for NMM gold that I'll need for something rather bigger I've got coming up in a few weeks, but about halfway through the process I accidentally hit on that really nice green so kept going with that instead.

This mini actually takes me to 50 for the year, which is about half the pace I was hitting last year, but still something I'm happy enough with, especially given that March was basically a wipeout with incessant uni deadlines and such. 150 is now the soft target for the year, hopefully doable but I won't lose any sleep if I don't hit it, I'd rather keep quality up than quantity.

In other news, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2 is fantastic, go see it! Great script, superb visuals, killer soundtrack.

That's all for now, ta for looking, any thoughts welcome as always!

Crikey man you paint nearly as fast as I do LOL :-) loving that Nurgle guy, you've a style that's so gritty and realistic in its application and suits the dirty to a 'T' as much as I like the Nurgle guy (and I AM flattered) I love the BA marine in your Inq warband, i've been seeing some very nice BA models done quite old school, being they are mostly just red marines and it looks GOOD!

Thanks all!

As for today's model, we're continuing the wolfy theme of the last two Marines I've done, but going all in this time with a Wolf Guard Terminator.

The Space Wolves have been a bit of a pain in the arse for me for some time now. I love their lore, I think their models are some of the bestaround, but I've never been able to crack a decent Wolf scheme. I despise the GW baby blue colours unless they're done really, really well (much more than I'm capable of), but if I take them too grey as I tend to they end up losing a big chunk of their instant recognisability (it's a word now! ). Think I've finally got it though, starting from a tone almost exactly half way between the traditional blue and pre-Heresy grey and working up from there.

Sadly I don't have any more SW to hand to take this any further, but I've got a box full back home so depending on what the future of 40k holds, they might get some more attention as I have just the right amount for a nice small army if the new edition allows such things. I've not played in ages, but it seems like now might be the time to get back in.

That's all for today, cheers for looking and do let me know what you think. Also, I switched in some better pics of the Stormcast in the last post.

Wolf looks great, love the pose, the blood, the gore all of it. I have one question though is how you do your blood? Can you point me to an article or is there somewhere in your blog how you get such realistic effects.
