Cheers folks!
Opinions seem mixed on the Custodes, but as you've all said they're decent enough, I think I'll leave them largely the same. I'll add what few purity seals I have left, and see if I can find some way of getting some piping and grenades on them. The trouble is, being single piece minis, there's very little scope from conversion.
Or, I could perform the ancient rite of Mantic-fication, and just glue a pair of goggles on!
More stuff incoming tomorrow!

Looking good Paradigm. As far as the Custodelves go, the main issue you have is that Custodes are supposed to be frickin' mahoosive so I'm not entirely sold as they. But like you've said, with a view purity seals here and there and bit more grimdarkification, they should look more the part.

Yeah aren't the custodes like super-marines or something? I think I saw a project hereabouts with really meaty tall-scaled costodes, I guess that's why.

They are superior to marines biological, but from most sources their armour is less bulky, hence why I figure the Elves look the part. With the helmets they are taller than Marines, and given that my IG are true-scale, so a little shorter/thinner than Cadians, they should fit in with them too.
If all else fails, I'll just use them as high-ranking Inquisitorial/Rogue Trader operatives or household guard. Either way, they're more useful now than gathering dust in a box!

Sad times for fantasy models, used more for 40k conversions...
The old sword masters look more or less spot on, except for being a little scrawny . I did used to have one or two of the old force halberds.
Cool Blood angels BTW

Cheers! I do use a lot of Fantasy stuff in my conversions, I mean, the Empire plastics are pretty much perfect for Inquisitorial stuff. I read you can also use them in some other game without spaceships, Warhammer Fantasy or something....
Anyway, on to today's new pics!
What did I say a couple of pages back about being easily distracted? Yep, this is a BA-less post, so I'll open up with the next couple of Raven Guard scouts.
Converted this chap from the Land Speeder Storm scouts, hence the non-standard pose. I think it works, though
And somewhat more standard, a Scout with a Big Knife:
And a group shot so far:
As you can see, they're fairly heavily weathered. I did this with a combination of ground artist chalks, sponge weathering and good 'ol Blood for the Blood God! As and when I expand the squad/army, I'll be keeping on with this style, as a) it makes black look interesting, and b) it fits the 'behind enemy lines' aspect of the RG.
And to finish off, some more Custodes:
Thinking about it some more, the scaling issues there are don't really bother me that much. Between Cadian gorilla Guardsmen and Rhinos that could feasibly fit maybe 6 marines in the back, 40k's scale is a mess anyway. I set them up as part of an army last night and they looked fine among the rest of the minis, so I'm not really too fussed.
That's all for now, as always comments are welcome!

I think they only look like elves in the context of other elves, they should work fine.
Scouts are very dynamic, I like.

Gotta love the Scout knives lol. Or rather short swords. Great stuff. Liking the blood-stained blades- BFTBG is quite a nice technical paint eh?

Thanks guys!
@AOV: Yeah, BFTBG is one of the products I am so glad I bought, not only is it great for blood of varying tyoes, but can also be used for a nice sheen on red/purple gems.
@ckig: I would try to get them halberds, but being that they're starter set snap-fit minis, the weapon and forarms are all one part, so swapping would be a real pain. There are probably ways, but not any I have the parts/skill for! As for the golds, that's just the miracle of Agrax Earthshade wash in action!

UPDATE TIME!
At long last, Operation Icestorm has arrived, and I have finally been able to plunge headlong, with thought for neither wallet nor safety, into the world of Infinity!
A brief (albeit pictureless) review of the set:
ing Awesome! 10/10 ect ect. As one would expect of Infinity miniatures, the detailing is crisp, clean and sharp. While I had assembly issues with the arms on the 3 Aguaciles not quite lining up, the majority went together very easily, and the foldable card terrain was also very easy to put together, no cutting or gluing required, and surprisingly sturdy. I might get another set of scenery down the line as for the price, its great stuff. As for the rest of the box. much the same can be said. The rulebok is nicely set out and surprisingly packed with some awesome artwork that has me seriously considering buying the Artbook down the line. The weakest point is the counters, as they're pretty flimsy, but between Deadzone and Space Hulk O have counters for all eventualities anyway.
But anyway, you're (presumably) here for pics, so here goes. In the first 40k-less post on this blog, a Panoceanian Fusilier:
The base needs a bit more work, but other than that I'm happy with it; I think I've got the style down if nothing else. This is possibly gy favourite basic infantryman mini from any game ever, so I hope to have done it justice.
As always, I appreciate any feedback, and if anyone sees anything in the set they'd like pictures of then let me know. As for what's up next, I'm torn between doing the factions one at a time, or alternative between the two, it'll likely be either another fusilier or an Aguacile.
Thanks for reading.

Like on the other thread, I like how much more serious he looks than a regular shiny blue pan-o model. I guess maybe that is blue, it looks grey on my monitor, but it's quite nice and being a more neutral tone just makes him look more serious and menacing

I did go for a more muted scheme than you see on alot of Infinity stuff in that I've kept the bright tones but the highlightingis a lot less extreme, for a few reasons. Firstly, the super-shiny-highlighting stuff is basically way beyond my abilities, I doubt I could paint in that style if I wanted too. Also, I do think these models with their very realistic sculpts in terms of equipment/posing/proportions benefit from a scheme that is equally grounded. The armour is blue, but it's highlighted to blue-grey rather than white.
In aesthetic terms, I'm thinking stuff like the Halo games or parts of Star Wars, clearly futuristic anbd high-tech but but also nicely gritty.

Two updates in one day! What is this madness?
Answer: too much spare time and awesome minis
So, I said there would be an Aguacile or Fusilier up next, so guess what... It's neither. Oops. I decided I wanted to try out a camo/cloaking effect on the Nomad Spektr (one of my favourites in the set), and before I knew what was going on I was painting. Here's the result:
What do you know, the camo works!
In all seriousness, though, here he is:
I think this second shot shows the camo effect better, you can see the left side and the right leg decloaking easier. Might add a little more contrast on the point between camo/no camo, but for a first attempt at anything like this I'm more than happy with it.

I must admit I've not really been that motivated to get through the genestealers, but like you say, they do have some awesome poses, so they might rear their ugly heads soon...

Well, been a while since I have stopped by and you have been busy. Lets see, first thanks for the kind words about the Raven Guard. Yours are looking pretty sweet as well. Second. I like the concept for your Custodes. Maybe adding a bolter or some other 40k bits would help GrimDark them up a bit. I think your Infinity Fusillier looks really good too.

Massively huge update of many pics:
First up, an Alguacile. Took me a while but I think I've got the red sorted now.
Next, a Fusilier:
And alongside his comrade:
And the CSU:
Might edit her a bit, I'm not too happy with the face or shirt.
PanO progress shot:
Spektr Action shot:
Spektr and Aguacile;
That's all for now! Not sure what's coming next, but it's probably something Nomad-y, as they're a bit behind. Perhaps another Aguacile or the Grenzer...
Keep the feedback coming, it's all extremely motivating!
