Thanks. Maybe it's just me but the visual cues I'm getting from the sculpt made me think that it was at least medium armor. Am I the only one who got that impression?

Thanks! To clarify, is that considered light, medium, or heavy armor? It has elements that design flourishes that resemble heavy armor so I was curious as that number value doesn't indicate that.

Armor is weird for Infinity. The trooper you're asking about is considered "Light Infantry", but appears a bit heavier than the ARM value because it has a decent BTS value and is also an AD trooper.

Yaaay! So happy they nailed the pose on the daoying, its what I hoped they would look like from the concept art (ie. not wierdly lopsided like the sniper from the IA starter).

Bit disappointed that the echo bravo has a sensible parrot and not another mini animal bot.

Yadu are just solid, nothing spectacular, nothing wrong with them either.

Overall, a cheap month for me, but that's probably a good thing!

There's more pointing going on there than in the J Crew catalogue.

The galaxy is littered with the single-planet graveyards of civilisations which made the economically sensible decision not to explore space.

I'd say they're all hits except for Raoul, and the tactical rock portion of the Ech Bravo.

Khawarijs are all solid poses, same for Yadus. I love the fluff for Khawarijs, I'd probably field them if I ever got my Haqq up and running even though they aren't all that great in game. Yadus are much needed, love them as budget-HI. EB has an awful rock base that'll be difficult to cut out and won't fit my tech basing at all, otherwise it's a solid fig.

I'm mildly excited for that Daoying. Model is perfectly bland, a static pose that looks like it's deliberately static because it's in the middle of doing something, either hacking or calling in artillery or just passing out those sweet sweet LT lvl2 orders to NCOs. And besides, she'll be a camo token for 90% of games anyways. I'm glad they're releasing that profile so soon, that'll see a lot more use than the sniper rifle in my games.

Nothing crazy awesome this month that I must own nownownow, but Raoul is the only thing disappointing.

The armour is quite distinct from most lighter PanO troops, it's actually quite angular while retaining the "PanO chest plate" that characterises, well, every non-HI release from PanO of late.
That said, as Kan noted it's a LI trooper with BTS as well, so I'd expect it to be more "Kamau" than "Fusilier".

For me it was the increase in the amount of rigid armor plate coverage compared with the Fusilier you mentioned; it's most evident on the legs/thighs. It's still consistent with the PanO style but the quantity surprised me. YMMV.

YMMV but it seems to me that the BTS (hacking resistance IIRC) and AD would typically result in a "lighter" looking armor loadout. Regardless, I won't belabor the point further.

BTS is anything that isn't "just a bullet". Hacking, Viral, etc.

AD troops for PanO seem to have an extra bit of armor plating since they're not necessarily just doing an in-atmosphere jump.

Well, Regulars just feature the chest armour and boots, I take that to be the ARM 0 base.
Fusiliers have armoured sleeves, shoulders and vambraces, so ARM 1.
Croc Men lack the arm armour, but have more heavily covered legs, greaves and boots, so again ARM 1.
Kamau have both the Croc Men lower armour and similar levels of arm/sleeve armour to the Fusiliers, ARM 1 also they come with fully enclosed helmets, BTS 6 (allowing the armour to boost this).
Bagh Mari have additional thigh plates on their legs (ARM 2) but layer on top of fabric/canvas (BTS 0, despite the helmets).
Bolts have more advanced/detailed leg armour at similar levels to the Bagh Mari (ARM 2) but this seems to combine with their helmets to equate to BTS 6 (they could be an artefact of old design philosophy though).

It looks like armor, but it might just be padding similar to what a Motocross rider or hockey/football player would wear, he's just wearing it over a wetsuit instead of under a jersey.

Then again, it's only a few more plates than a Fusilier wears, some of that blue is actually part of the wetsuit

Cancon video. Sorry for the FB link, I'm sure a mirror on youtube will appear at some time.

https://www.facebook.com/benandmarty/videos/1051641668377368/

5 new or updated armies this year with Invivibles being the first. More are possible but not promised.

Another big plot change that will see at adepticon with a new Box and Book. This will be the first 1/3rd of the year. The book "unlocks the 5 armies" and ends the trilogy that started with Uprising.

Nothing on the new way to play outside Bostria saying it was a huge amount of work and they want to keep it sceret until the right time.

Shavastii are making a huge comback in 2019. Their the main villans of the 2019 story line with 3 moments. 1st new profiles in army, then miniature reviel, then a secret. Concept art is done expect an improvement along the side of morats in terms of designs. Not drastic concept changes, but improvements in design.

Tohaa will be the "eye of the storm". They're not the spotlight, that's the Shavastii, but there will be plenty of focus on them in the story.

There will be an Australian named character added the story at some point (it is an Australian con after all).

Taqeul Officer not coming in 2019.

Impersial Service is designed as a police force which inflences designs and equipment (anwer to how some units are designed and chosen)

CB is not planning a space battle game. The Arceon blockade is going to play a big role in an upcomming storyline.

No new CA aliens introduced in 2019 but could happen eventually.

reason for 1 wound HI in Invicible. "They are softer to perform more stuff in the game"

No fantasy game from CB yet. If we "do it it won't be a LoTR ripoff"

Balence is decided between playtesting (internal, external), ITS results, sales or adjustments to make a unit fit more in what a faction should be.

Tohaa started as "infinity elfs" and were influnced by Dark Elves from Hellboy 2 and aliens in mass effect.

CB is aware of the nested rules and complex stuff people have been talking about. They are looking into as they're aware that as a game gets expansions this becomes an issue.

MAF redesign has been well received as far as CB feels.

It's unsustainable for CB and retailers to deal with their SKU load. Discontining sectorials was the way they decided to deal with this. By annoucing the discounined skus months in advance it gives people and stores time to get what they want. They've been told by distributers to remove stuff so they did. Carlos did skirt the original question of if CB would sell out of print stuff occationaly in their webstore.

New units will continue for the 2018 armies.

No Marut resculpt in 2019.

Orc box in 2019

No highlander reculpts in 2019

Securty Chief Arslan (druze) and SWC bralwer box coming soon.

I see nothing wrong with this mentality. The market is saturated with LotR-like games, and even GW moved away from regimented warfare with their dropped LotR line and later Warhammer: Age of Fantasy SpaceMarines. We have Kings of War, old LotR, Game of Thrones, historicals, and many others that have shown less-than-stellar popularity in today's market. The fact that they're comparing it to LotR means CB will never make a regimented fantasy game. That being said, a more steampunk-y game like Warhammer Age of Fantasy SpaceMarines or Warmahordes may be a consideration as they're not LotR ripoffs. Then again, the dead Dystopian Legions and Wild West RomeoRage didn't fare too well in this crowded genre with Wyrd's The Other Side just coming in as well. I feel CB would rather release a game that allows mass combat with the miniatures we already have other a completely new IP.

Invincible Army is from the 3rd Offensive Book. Part of that Sectorial batch.
So far it would be Shaz and Rahmah. He said there will be a new NA2 army also.

Excited for the Brawlers box. That MSV2 sniper is going to see a lot of table time once she's out.

I'm pretty sure he was referencing setting and not gameplay. They don't want to make a generic fantasy world.

Wow, I may need to get Perseus just to paint for fun. What a great pose.

I’m really happy to see Invincible Army expand, but it’s a little odd seeing so much “sameness” between the models... really hard to tell them apart because their differences are subtle. But I know consistency is a virtue too, so I’m not disappointed, just having a hard time telling some of them apart.

Last year CB realeased 5 armies, JSA, Tunguska, OSS, Tak and Varuna.
Invincible Army counts as 2019 release.

Look at the release timeline, blue N in january is IA sectorial. Also I'm pretty sure Bostria confirmed this.

My guess would be Shasvastii box in March at Adepticon. Tohaa vs X at Gencon. That would leave them November for the new "way to play"

Tohaa vs Shasvastii would give us a 2 player starter for each faction (except NA2 I guess).

They could change things up and do the 2 player earlier then gencon but I doubt that will be it and Carlos talking so much about Shasvastii being the main villains I can't see them waiting till August to release. There's supposed to be an infinity week before the re-release of the bugs so if that's in march we know what will be out at Adepticon.
