Not really sure where to post this, Painting & Modeling seemed the best place. OK so..i want to start a blog and such about my army. I have this big fancy 250$ camera with lots of bells and whistles and no idea how to take a decent picture. I normally use the "auto" function and my pictures come out to zoomed in or just horrible looking. So, anyone willing to give me a fast simple step by step way to set up a area to take pictures..and maybe which features or setting to use on the camera(Kodak Easyshare Z8612 IS i think is the camera model) Any help at all would be so much appreciated and thank you much.

Well, the camera's user manual is always the best source. But if you read through the dakka blogs and get a feel for the kind of things you need to consider... then use your manual to figure out exactly how to do it with your specific camera... I think you'll be fine. Or.... you can experiment until you find something that works best.

I've used an older Easyshare camera and got acceptable results. Just remember the 5 'p's and you'll get there eventually*.

Macro, working out where the minimum focus distance is (continuous autofocus and the screen help here), good lighting and a stable camera surface (handholding the camera is NOT recommended. With macro, the smallest movements are magnified)

I'm OVER 50 (and so far over everyone's BS, too).
