Only if you put him with a mega nob squad and Mega-Nobs are nobs with a 2+ save and a really cheap power klaw.

That's why you can put them in a trukk. You only need 3-5 to make them useful in an ork army. You take two squads of 5 for 400 pts which is the same as regular termies. The advantage they have is that they can be mounted in a 30 point transport that can zip around the board and be in close combat by turn 2.
Terminators have to get lucky and come in by deep strike on turn 2, get every gun in the army pointed at them, and then they have the opprotunity to assault. OR they have to take a 250 point transport just to get around. For 250 points you can take another 5 mega nobs and put them in a decked out trukk.

If you're going to take a warboss in mega armour, you may as well take Ghazkhull.

I take warbosses in mega armor to unlock my mega nobs as troops. Put them in a truck, and hope you get lucky getting close enough. Meganobs aren't that expensive really, take 3 with different weapons, and a war boss (to take the S8-9 wounds) and they aren't that inefficient really. The warboss with mega armor is very deadly, and cant take a few hits before biting it. Really a solid choice if you are going with a themed army.

Of like to echo the sentiment of bringing Ghaz. If your going to bring a boss in Mega Armor, you don't want to get boned out of an assault with a bad Waagh!

Commanding Orc Boss

There isnt much point in that warboss, though MANZ in a trukk (like 5 of them) that moves flat out into terrain first turn (and so if it gets destroyed you claim a 4+ Cover for the Nobz) and then they become an immediate threat, getting fire away from your boyz that are slowly coming up behind. They can be very good for a distraction role like this, no one likes a facefull of meganob.

I hate hard counters. In a game of rock, paper, scissors, I hate playing any of the factions because no matter what you choose you might as well not deploy against your hard counter. I want to use a gun. Rock, paper, and scissors could all probably still beat gun, but gun will never feel like a game is a lost cause. |
