Adolescent Youth on Ultramar

Just an idea I had while waiting for my Assault on Black reach to arrive and reading some posts on Dakka...
Since Ultramarines have their own mini empire within the Imperium, Obsessed with following the rules (See British people and queueing) and generally considered the non-nonsense chapter (stiff upper lip) Could they be the British of the 41st millennium?
and if so what nations match up to other races/chapters?
random thought while I'm bored

Ultrasmurfs are not like the British, for the British have never accepted Rowboat Girlyman as their SPIRICHUL LEEGE.
Really, Ultramarines are the guys that write rules for everyone else, and then never follow them.
They were once the bare-bones vanilla of Spess mehrens, nothing special. Nothing good, nothing bad. No focus.
Now they are Golden Child of the Imperium who know no wrong, make no mistakes, and look down disdainfully at the "Abberant" chapters (IE the interesting ones like Black Templar, Space Puppehs, etc)
Ultramarines are those people who work at the DMV, in my opinion.

Britain, Rome... what's the difference? I just feel sorry for all of those guardsmen who have to defend the Hadrian Gate.

Kroothawk wrote:Ultramarines British? Should have guessed, the Primarch Roboute Guillaume with his ultra-British name reveals the truth both names are french... If anything, ultramarines are most like the japanese samurai combat codes. Stupid suggestion? Think about it: They live by unshakeable moral code They fight in very specific manners They prefer the close fight to the ranged one They defend their domain, and do not often venture to take land that has never belonged to them. They believe in the perfect warrior They have unfaltering loyalty. Massive honour basis.

I thought the whole Imperium was modelled on the Roman Empire not just the Ultras?
TBH the OP is a tad tenuous (sorry just my tuppence worth)
Not seen any fluff that suggests that when the clock stikes three
the Ultramarines stop for tea!

how about the Amazaboob.
If you don't get it, maybe even the french. hell, RG.
Think about it!
- they're always having revolts.
- They smell funny
- They trade in life
- They produce impenetrable castles which are easy to penetrate
- Their ships aren't one bit nubile
- They refuse to accept anyone elses POV.
- Did I mention they smell funny?
I'm just kidding. I do respect the frenchies a little. They're kewliest.
