Working on a Lizardman army and I'm wanting to do something with their bases more than my usual black, or just grass. How would you go about basing something such that it looks like a Rain Forest?

I hear most jungles have very thick (almost impenetrable) undergrowth at the edges of tree lines, but once inside the jungle the floor is more clear because very little light reaches the floor to sustain growth, and because tropical trees don't have to shed their leaves every year there isn't a carpet of past years' detrius.
So it would be very hard to make bases that say "jungle" without having lots of trees on the table somewhere. I'd say make most of the base bare earth, with perhaps some odd roots or vines. You could perhaps use water effects to make it look like they were marching through water pools and shallow mud after a recent rain. If you can find some correct scale insects to put on a couple of bases that would be a nice touch too.

Although in the wrong scale, this blog has some pretty cool jungle style bases.
This base is pretty cool too.
Fish stores will often have some pretty bright "jungle style" plastic plants that you might be able to use as well.
Galeforce 9 also do a jungle basing kit, though it is quite 2D, it can form a good foundation to a more interesting base. They also do clump foliage which could help you out too.

Ferns and rotting logs and fungi.
Not a lot of undergrowth in a rainforest. Canopy doesn't let enough light through.

Old enough to know better, young enough to not give a ****.
