I have been looking into using a Warmachine Warjack model as a Chaos dread in my IW army. I've been todl they coudl be similar sizes (the warjacks are based on a 50mm base).

Here are soem pics of the kits i was thinking of getting. The one box contains the parts to amke one of the following four models:

DECIMATOR

JUGGERNAUGHT

DESTROYER

MARAUDER

Has anyone used one of these as a dread before? i think they will look pretty nice in IW colours, counting the cannosn as plasma cannons or lascannon etc.

incidentally. from what i have seen this kit is only about £19 which is cheaper than buying a normal dread too!

I'd be more inclined to use this one, it's fairly dynamic in comparison:

I like that one as well.

But it's also another $10 and metal, the kits above are a muti-part plastic kit.

I'd be more tempted to use the above one as a Heavily armoured DP of Khorne.

Praxiss - i'd say its well worth the trouble.
The metal one looks 100x better.
Granted it will require more work, but it will fit your theme well.

with the plastic one i would greab an AoBR dread for £6 from ebay for its legs (plastic jacks legs and feet look wrong)
Dont forget though, the casts recently in plastic have had several problems too.

Personally, I think it'd be fine. About the right size and obvious what it's supposed to be.

Yeah, you could kit-bash I suppose, but I think at that point I'd just be getting the AOBR dread and converting it.

I'm assuming you want the WarJack to pull double duty? Or do you just really not like the Dead model?

I'm not like them, but I can pretend.

Observations on complex unit wound allocation: If you're feeling screwed, your opponent is probably doing it right.

I have a couple of dread already (one forgeworld and one converted SM dread). I really dont like the chaos dread model (shocker) and i like the thought that the IW woudl modify their dreads more extensivley with bigger guns, thicker armour etc.

I'm also looking at making an Iron Scorpion (brass scorpion in IW colours).

What do you mean by "doubel duty"?

My only concern with using AoBR dread legs woudl be the length. Teh jacks seem to have longer legs and if i use stumpt dread legs the Jacks arms will be hitting the floor....that's what it looks like anyway.

Just meant playing with the same model for both games as a cost-saving measure. My hobby funding is limited, so I look to do stuff like that all the time.
