I know some (read: all) of the Columbia crowd is looking forward to bringing some good tidings and joy to our benighted brothers from That Place in the Upstate.

Good thing the opening is this month-- another month or so and we'll be in full football mode. The fall's a dangerous time for Gamecocks and Tigers to mix!

Football mode started as soon as pre-season games hit the television my friend. I will most likely be showing up for this tourney to check out the new place. I will most DEFINITELY show for any you have after we stomp the gak out of Clemson this year.

U S C !!!!!!

The path of the righteous man is beset on all sides by the iniquities of the selfish and the tyranny of evil men. Blessed is he who, in the name of charity and good will, shepherds the weak through the valley of darkness, for he is truly his brother's keeper and the finder of lost children. And I will strike down upon thee with great vengeance and furious anger those who would attempt to poison and destroy My brothers. And you will know My name is the Lord when I lay My vengeance upon thee.

Here's the missions, post any questions and comments you have, or feel free to pm me

***Note, tabling an opponent will get you full battle points

You have spent the last ten years fighting for control of a key industrial planet. The fighting has ground down to a stalemate, with all sides losing millions of soldiers per year. High command has once again been changed, leading to a change in tactics designed to break the fighting…

Mission 1- Dawn Raid

You must sneak behind enemy lines to disrupt their supplies and communication.

Deployment Type: Dawn of War

Special Rules: Standard Mission Rules

Primary Objective: Hold the elevated ground. Place objective markers on the two tallest, non impassable terrain pieces on the board.

15 Points- Control both objectives
10 Points- You control one, your opponent controls none
5 Points- You both control one.

Secondary Objective: Destroy the Fuel Drums. Before the first turn, both sides place one fuel drum objective marker in each of their table halves. The drum is an AV 13 object that can only be destroyed by getting a 5 or 6 on the vehicle damage table, if a 6 is rolled; the explosion is strength 6 instead of 3.

Your opponents fuel drum is destroyed, and yours is intact – 10 Points
Both fuel drums are destroyed- 5 Points

Tertiary Objective: Decapitate the enemy forces

Destroy all you’re opponents HQ’s - 5 Points

Mission 2- Flank their line

Attempting to gain the upper hand on the enemy, your forces are attempting to maneuver around to their extreme flank.

Deployment Type: Spearhead

Special Rules: Standard Mission Rules

Primary Objective: Flank the Enemy

15 Points- Have more scoring units in your enemies’ deployment zone than they have in yours.
10 Points- Have equal number of scoring units in each others deployment zones.

Secondary Objective: Table Quarters

10 Points- Control (with troops units) more table quarters than your opponent.
5 Points- Control an equal number of table quarters as your opponent.

Tertiary Objective: Get the big guns behind them

5 points- Have a Heavy Support choice survive the battle.

Mission 3- Breakthrough!

Having done all you can to put the enemies forces off balance, the time has come to wipe them out!
Deployment type: Pitched Battle

Special rules: Standard Mission Rules

Primary Objective: Kill points, each troops unit counts as 2 kill points.

15 Points- You have more kill points
10 Points- You and your opponent tie on kill points

Secondary Objective: Take the Line!

15 Points- Have more scoring units in your enemies’ deployment zone than they have in yours.
10 Points- Have equal number of scoring units in each others zones.

Tertiary Objective: Achieve a moral victory

5 Points- Have 350 more victory points than your opponent

For the first mission, can we make sure the terrain is conducive to a (relatively) fair fight in re: to having terrain pieces in each player's side?

Just worried that two tall pieces next to each other might be an insurmountable advantage for one side.

And for the secondary mission- can a glancing hit destroy the drums?

For mission 2, can any unit control a table quarter? (i.e., is it VP based) or only troops? If Troops, is it a VP comparison for contesting?

Other than that, missions look good- decent variety, nothing too out there.

fix'd the missions a bit. In mission two only troops can control table quarters and if there is an equal number controlled by both sides then both will get five points. A unit straddling two quarters has to pick one to control. A glancing hit cannot destroy a drum unless it is from an ap1 weapon which rolls a 6 on the vehicle damage table. Terrain will be appropriate for mission one.

How are Shrike/Snikrot being ruled in re: ICs joining them for deployment?

For reference:

The INAT allows ICs to join

Some other tourneys (The NoVA we went to last weekend, for example) do not.

We had a great tournament, Justin from Heros and Dragons in Columbia got best general and Clay from Atlanta got best painted, for his outstanding mechanized ork army.

Yeah, he roflstomped my Orks first round- didn't pick up many of the Mission Goals, but was well on his way to finishing off my army all the same.

Nice to meet you, Primarch. I enjoyed playing you today.
