Hey Dakka I was wondering if any one knew what plasticweld would do to painted / inked plasticard. I was planning on getting this (http://www.worldworksgames.com/store/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=4&products_id=260) and was going to have it printed on plasticard and I was wondering if the Plastic Weld would damage the image or any thing.
Thanks in advance,
Carbon

Is plasticweld a specific product or do you mean the process of plastic welding?

Polystyrene cement in most of its forms is a serious solvent (hence its able to melt plastic) and it will tend to take off any paint on a plastic surface. Also if it doesn;t damage the paint how will it reach the plastic to fuse the surfaces together?

You'd be better off using superglue if you want to stick those things together without losing colour.

Please excuse any spelling errors. I use a tablet frequently and software keyboards are a pain!
