I just want to make sure, in a game yesterday I played a tau player who insisted that because my assault marines could not make an armor save from his ap3 sniper rifle they did not get their feel no pain rolls. I, and everyone ii asked said they still do, but this guy insisted they didn't. So tell me, am I the dumbass lacking reading comprehension, or is my opponent?

If any armour save is possible (not just for the model in question), Feels No Pain works. It is only cancelled by the listed effects on p75, and specific rules.

Example- Plaguebearers, who have no armour save and Feels No Pain.

Ask him if plaguebearers EVER get their FNP.

FNP doesn't work against attacks that no armor save is allowed from. It is based upon the attack, not the target. Certain things like Dangerous Terrain checks and others say "no armor saves allowed" That is what it is referencing.

I've had this type of situation come up as well but with Death Company my opponent also said that because I couldn't take an armor save i didn't get FNP. I would also like to know if this is true.
