Hmm. What is bad about super heroes? nothing i think. I like iron man. A rich man who uses his technology to save the world. most rich people who have that chance i think would be super villians.

-to many points to bother to count.

Supervillainry is only a sane option if it gets you better results than the alternative. Stark is a billionaire who gets to save the world, single-handedly advance the course of science, fly around in his own personal suit of powered armour, date any of the women eager to jump his bones, publically humiliate his political opponents, and is one of the most loved men in America. What on Earth could supervillainry possibly offer him?

Kill someone who pisses him off and be happy about it.

I think it's interesting how Super Heroes have evolved in the time from their original creation to their current state. I mean it used to be that Super Heroes where the best of mankind given form, they could do no wrong and every characteristic they had was the best that they could.

Now they are much more human in their stories and how they interact with others. As an example Storm from the X-Men is officially a lesbian in the X-Men cannon. That's something that never would have been allowed back when Super Heroes where in their hay day. Now it is something that is acceptable and is very human, plus it gives some readers something that they can relate to.

I think Super Heroes can be perfect role models. It's just there is always going to be someone out there who won't like it saying that it promotes unwanted behaviors in children. To me it's the same as bubble syndrome, it seems like recently parents want to shelter their children from EVERYTHING that could ever go wrong.

The losing team of a little league Base Ball game still gets a trophy so their self esteem isn't hurt. When I was little that ment we just got angry and came back later to beat them, cuts where a natural part of every day and so was being dirty, in moviesthe only time we had to cover our eyes was during sex scenes, violence scenes where fine to watch (scenes from Predator come to mind) and I turned out all right (I think).

LOL, someone has more money, and you agree with them, therefore using violence against others is ok. I mean he is on your side so who is complaining. I am an advocate for violence as it will always be a part of society i am just saying don't pretend its self righteous and because you have no other option.

yeah, the article also talks about super heroes in movies as opposed to comics. i would wager there is a much broader selection in comics that might possibly have some positive role models.

Really looking to movies and tv to provide role models for your children seems lazy. Isn't it the parents job to raise their children and shouldn't the parents be the good role models for their kids?
