Skaventide has arrived, and I managed to polish off the Prosecutors and Liberators.

Really liking these models, going to say they are a big improvement on what they replaced.

Damn they look nice, this is going to be a long two week wait. I really wish they'd bring back the resin female and male head alternatives. I want to use them on this new stuff.

If it helps, you get bare-headed alternatives, male and female for (I think) all of the Liberators.

Managed to get the rest of the Stormcasts done this weekend.

The Lord-Vigilant on his Gryph-Stalker has detail but seems to paint up way quicker than I had feared:

Meanwhile, the Lord-Terminos is a mood.

And I particularly like the new Knight-Questor:

My AoS 4e projects are pretty simple - recalculate my various forces.

So far I've done my SoB & Beasts of Chaos*.
Next up: either my Stormcast or Bone Reapers.

*For my Beasts I own probably close to 5-6k worth of stuff. So I've only really tallied up 2 different 2k lists....

Going with a New Edition - New Army thing I quickly acquired, assembled and painted a 1,000 point Kruleboyz army for a tourney (so I guess an old army?) Took about two weeks with some NOS Dominion halves available. Fairly easy to paint (if not assemble without the instructions), but I experimented with some water effects for swamp bases. A fun project and they did well enough on the tabletop. Now expanding to 2K for a September event.

All you have to do is fire three rounds a minute, and stand

My current project is to get my Nighthaunt (which is largely from the Soul Wars box) up to fighting strength, mostly for spearhead. One big issue is the unit sizes don’t match. So a little improv with the hobby knife and a box of Grimghast Reapers.

First, fill out the squad to 10 (or 2x5 for Spearhead)

Second, stalkers need to be in units of 4, not 5, and need a music guy.

Little rough getting the old horse heads to fit, but once again I’m justified by not throwing out old junk.

And one spare body gets a little bling and the “correct” size base to become a cairn wraith

Paint will help him stand out more.

Looks really good, but i do have to say i think the kit shows its age somewhat now. But, it's probably better scenery for AoS than it ever was for fantasy. In AoS the models can actually interact with it.

Finished the first of my Kruleboyz a couple of days ago:

Quick and dirty paintjob is quick and dirty, but I'm proud of the results regardless. Now I need to get more of their buddies done.

I don't like how pale the more recent Orruk/Ork/Orc skin is in GW's studio schemes. It used to be a more saturated green IIRC. I'm going to stick to my own color for my Kruleboyz. If I was to change anything, it would be to add some dirt and grime to the armor. Looking at my pics, they look a bit too clean.

Nothing too exciting atm.
●finally slowly assembling the Skaven portion of Skaventide. About 1 unit/week. I've already got 1ks of pts worth of skaven, so I don't feel any burning rush....
●starting on basing for my Gargants
●Making new/better movement trays for my Gloomspite.
Sigmar might not virtually require these, but it's still easier to move blobs of 20 goblins about on a tray vs moving them all 1 by 1.... And since my Gloomspute are also my Old World Goblin army those trays will get alot of use.

So after a very productive month in the painting challenge, my Slasher Host is complete:

Now I don’t have a Knight of Shrouds on foot, so I’m just going to use a Guardian of Souls as a counts-as. With the fixed lists of spearhead, it’s not like he could be anything else, and he does get the “character” point across.

Next up on the AoS front is more of the CC box for my soulblight, and a few odds and ends spooks for the nighhaunt

Lauka Vai has been languishing in the Magic Box O’Stuff since she first came out. But tonight? I have a go at getting her painted in a single evening.

This past week or so for Aos:
*I finished building the last of the Lumineth units I'll need for the shops escalation League. Right now it's all built & base coated. I do not expect I'll finish painting it any time soon.
*Repaired, finished building, & base coated a small Kharodan force. (the repairs were just reattaching a few steering vains to two of the ships & fixing a few flight stands)
*Completely built & painted up 12 WHFB 5e era Dryads - I suppose these are still useful in a Sylvanth force. (they were actually done for a D&D game, but after that they'll be making their way into the AoS/Old World forces)
