Hi,
the interesting part is in the last paragraph:
Games Day Baltimore News!

Hi There,
We have some exciting news for those of you attending Games Day Baltimore on Saturday – not only will Paul Rudge be unveiling our next Imperial Armour book, but Tony Cottrell will be presenting an exclusive seminar and Q&A on all things Forge World. Read on for more details.

Thanks,
Ead Brown

Forge World Seminar 4:15pm - 5:15pm
Tony Cottrell, head, and long-standing creative visionary of Forge World, will be presenting an exclusive peek into the future of Forge World, including a Q&A session for Games Day Baltimore attendees.
Situated in Seminar Room #304, which will be labelled on your Games Day map, Tony will reveal more about top-secret Imperial Armour projects and forthcoming miniatures pried from the secretive depths of the Forge World studio.

The Seminar begins at 4:15pm – but make sure you are there early, because only 80 seats are available and it will be first come, first served. US Games Workshop staff will be able to give you more information, so be sure to ask about this fantastic opportunity when you enter the venue.

Exclusive Pre-Release and Advance Order Products Available at Games Day
In addition to the huge range of stock that we will be carrying on our sales stand, we can now confirm that we will have limited quantities of all the fantastic Space Marine kits that we have recently announced. The Caestus Assault Ram, MkII, MkIII, MkIV, MkV and MkVI Armour Sets, as well as the Umbra Ferrox, Phobos and Umbra Bolter Packs and the Rogue Trader-esque Special Weapons Set will all be available to purchase on the day.

Excitingly, we will also be offering Games Day Baltimore customers the chance to pre-order Imperial Armour Volume 9, final proof copies of which will be unveiled by Paul Rudge on the Studio stand. The first 500 copies despatched will be signed by the author and all those placing pre-orders for the book will receive our usual Games Day free shipping offer.

GD Baltimore is next Saturday, so in 2 days. Then we will know what IA9 is about.

Is IA9 going to be another ork-heavy book like IA8 was? I certainly hope so. IA8 was great.

I haven't yet bought a single IA book but plan to start with IA8. They had me at "Grot tanks". I might have to wait for 9 now, though.

I think IA9 will continue with Orks, and will have the 3 Ork tribes that were not in IA8, so... Blood Axes, Bad Moons and... Snakebites?

All honesty, they're fantastic books(barring the typos). You can skip IA1+2 though. The campaign books and "Masterclass" are where they really hit their stride.

Yeah, you're right!

It seems strange that they're announcing IA9 given that all they've released so far are some SM armour variants. They usually release more stuff before doing anothe book. Maybe they've got lots of stuff ready but in secret??

IA1 and 2 have a lot of cool background material. I'd skip none of them as they're all great (even if Taros' story is insultingly stupid). Anphelion is the best IMO.

And IA9 already? Man... I haven't even got IA7 yet. They're really starting to churn these out now, aren't they?

They must've worked in advance or something. I do hope that they refine the format used in IA8.

Don't know, I must be one of the few who didn't really enjoy the story driven retelling of the campaign. If they are doing it all action driven and novel-styled, please get a novel writer on board.

Or it could be that FW yet again showed that they really, really hate the Elysians that put me off.

Well we have contradictory rumours about IA9:

Frenzy, 23rd January 2010:
BrookM wrote:IA8 and IA9 will be a two-parter, released shortly after one another according to what I've been told, but it can deviate. As for actual contents, no previews were present (no Eagle Claw lander either) or any solid info on what the books would tackle.

All we do know is that 8 tackles three of the major clans and 9 tackles the other three big ones.(...)
IA8 has the Goffs, Evil Sunz and Deathskullz, so IA9 will feature the Snake Bites, Bad Moons and Blood Axes.

17th February, 2010:
Bloodthirster wrote:A few rumours for you since I'm feeling in a good mood.

The new Eldar Super Heavy is done and is ready to be cast
Eldar will appear in IA9
Eldar Titan will make appearence
FW are doing Webway gate terrain
FW are doing a Eldar landing pad
HL Valkyrie is to be released on Open Day, along with a few suprises(Ahem big Ork., SM ...(Now that would be spoiling it! )

FW Open Day, 28th March 2010:
Kroothawk wrote:Hi,
today is the Forge World Open Day 2010 over at Nottingham.(...)

Next after Orks (IA10?) will be Eldar vs. Imperium, possibly in two books. Still contradicting rumours whether the Ork storyline will get a second book with maybe two other clans vs. Ravenguard or Eldar are next. Once source said that IA 9 will be the second part of the campaign but instead of more Ork stuff, the Imperium finds out that Eldar herded the Orks to that planet -> Eldar stuff. Still not sure about this. (...)

Eldar
IA10 will feature Eldar vs. Imperium. Will feature a whole craftworld army on the attack. Will perhaps include Exodite upgrade kits.
Storyline something like this: "Eldar invade some hillbilly backwater, in force, the Imperium responds in increasing force, half the planet gets redued to a charred ruin, and then, 6 months later, all the Eldar suddenly leave, mission accomplished, leaving all the Imperial forces standing around going 'Huh? Where'd everybody go?'"

First and only model shown is the WIP Phantom Titan by Will Hayes, a mock-up with only basic details, 2-2.5 feet tall. They are still working on weapons and rules. Will be available this year, maybe at Games Day UK. Will occupy Hayes for the next half year. They are in contact with Jes on the project. Model will get several variants, including a Warlock Titan.

(Jes Goodwin's original Epic concept sketches http://img163.imageshack.us/img163/5168/eldartitans.jpg )

Will Hayes very passionate about Eldar. Playing with ideas of Falcons with integrated guns (Cobra-like). There will be variants, but probably nothing requiring the customer to cut up the hull badly
No plans for "Type 3" variants. There will be characters and they consider a completely new Aspect. They also consider a tank size between Falcon and Cobra.
Keep in mind that concerning the Eldar book, nothing beside the Phantom is set in stone yet, as they are still shifting ideas and concepts.

BTW GW considered making a plastic Scorpion but dropped the idea for now because of problems with the huge single piece hull.

Orks
Featured in the next IA book IA8 shown in part on the event. At the printers and expected for a may release. Features Goff's Deathskulls and Evil Sunz. IA9 will either continue the Ork storyline with 2 other clans or be a Space Marine (only) book or maybe Eldar vs. Imperium. Still contradicting rumours.

Elusive71 wrote:According to Warseer's RCGothic:

The Phantom Titan from the Photos is made from a polyurethane foam, and is Will Hayes Sketch model only. It is NOT a resin final, nor even a working model, and as such has no joint articulation nor any fine detail besides what is pencilled on.

Legs, hips, groin and knee joints from the actual model were displayed right next to the sketch up. The actual working model has some pretty amazing double-articulated knee joints, and the hips are looking pretty impressive as well. It was posed standing on one leg like the revenant, and from all signs the final model will be freakishly dynamic.

"The Phantom will definitely be available this year."
"For Games Day?"
"It's Possible."
- Tony Cotterell and myself.

Sources say it will be 2'-2.5' feet tall. I'm stoked that it looks like Jes' Epic concept art:

Kanluwen wrote:Everything I've heard about IA9 suggests that it continues this storyline, just with a larger emphasis on Raven Guard rather than Elysians.

Bloodthirster wrote:Edit: Some info from the event;
In IA9, Part two of the campaign, the Eldar are discovered by the Imperium acting like they did in DOW2. ie; Herding the Orks to this world.
The others clans are unlikely to be covered in the next book, but rather in a future one.

Kroothawk wrote:On Warseer there are some rumours that the IA book on Eldar takes place on an Ice planet, with Space Wolves (incl. Thunderwolves) as the opponent. Wishlisters want to have new Valhallans, too.

Kanluwen wrote:
Alpharius wrote:Wasn't there a new Marine Flyer in here too, or was that nixed by the Storm Raven in the new BA codex?

Supposedly it's coming in IA9.

So the big question is, will Eldar be featrued in IA9 or later in IA10.

I thought IA8 was good but not the best, but then I liked IA3 a lot so YMMV.
