Bought a fine detail marker to do the recesses on some tau, but it's not coming out right. Is there a preferred pen to use? Preferred size?

What pen did you get?

A micro sharpie with a ultra-fine point should work just fine.

Failing that, you can always go "old skool" and let capillary action do the work with black ink...

if you use a standard mechanical pencil you get a reflective metalic effect on the edges of the lines. its subtle but quite futuristic too and you can erase it if you dont like or slip.
