So say i have a Squad of Scouts in cover (4+ save) all wearing Camo Cloaks (stealth gives +1 making it 3+ save) and the terrain in question is bolstered by a tech marine.
Do these effects all stack?
because that would bring the cover save to 2+ which is kinda insane.

Not so much madness.

Heavy flamer will pretty much negate the cover bonus (or your armour save).

Scouts burn good.

Yeah ill bet. But thats why they have range, Try and take out the flamers before they get close enough. Altho them Blood Angels can just jump towards em.

I was under the impression that cover saves cannot get better than a 3+.

I do not, unfortunately, remember where I read that from, so I may be pulling it out of my ass.

Anyone have confirmation/positive rebuttal of that?

I do not remember reading that anywhere, but ill check the rulebook again, and see what i find.

EDIT: yea effectively a save can be modified to 2+ (not any less since a 1 always fails)

In my most recent game with my Eldar I had some pathfinders in a trench with a 2+ cover save.

They survived an awful lot of incoming fire

Such a restriction does not exist. You can have a 2+ even a 1+ cover save, though effectively 2+ is the best you can get as a 1 is always a fail.

Without bolster defences your scouts can just go to ground to get 2+ anyway.

But as pointed out it is not as insane as you'd think. Heavy flamers can be delivered into range on turn 1 quite easily so your range can be largely ignored.

There is no such rule on cover saves.

Doesn't the rulebook state that you can never have a save better then a 2 though? I cant be fecked looking right now haha.

Look at page 24 BRB under maximum save. Save can be increased by +1 or +2 but as FlingitNow said, a roll of 1 is always a fail.

Different bonuses from different sources to dice rolls will always stack. Being in Cover, that has been Bolstered, while wearing Camo Cloaks would confer a 2+ Cover Save. Having Stealth (ie - from Sgt. Telion) would also stack, but like what everyone else has said, no save of any kind can be better than 2+.

I have done this myself, and they survivied an entire game of punishment from obliterators. God that was an odd game! ended up my terminator captain joined sergeant telions sniper squad!

When in history would any sane captain join a unit of scouts!

That game was my first major win

Doesn't Stealth get thrown when an independent character joins, One that doesn't have stealth? Or didn't you have Stealth Camos?

Nope, it doesnt have an "*" so isnt lost....apparently Tellion can go "shh!" at the IC

Obliterators should have been in twin linked flamer range - deepstrike -if you had a scout marine force.
