That is a distinctly different game. That is Space Marine, this is Dark Millennium Online. The title is in this thread's title, the video declaring that it's a far different game is in the OP, and there's already a Space Marine game thread.

No, really. Fallout 2 is way better than Fallout 3, Mass Effect 1 & 2, Dragon Age, Fable...
Hell, Baldur's Gate series beats the crap out of most of the stuff on the market today. Sure, these aren't MMOs, but they're examples of game quality > graphics
Like I always say, don't bash it till you try it.
Well, that's all very subjective - I'm perfectly happy to love the old Fallouts and the new Fallout as they're not really comparable. That's apples and oranges. Sure they're both fruit, but only share a similar aesthetic.
I'm curious why they're putting so much effort into promoting this game this early on. The game is two and a half years out and promoting it won't make it come any sooner. Hell, most people will probably forget this stuff by the time it comes out. Then again, two and a half years is a long time in game development, and this could change in a dozen big ways by then. I mean, it's cool stuff to see, but it's so far out that it probably won't apply come launch time.

I think you're missing the point I made though. It's not the graphics that make a great game. Sure, Fallout 3 was a great game. But Fallout 2 did a better job at being an RPG. Meanwhile, it's all 2D environments and sprites. Yet it's still an awesome game. Reason I'm saying this is because looking through this thread, there seems to be a bountiful amount of stupidity in the form of "Gr8 grafix or dis gaem sux!!!1!111!two!". The point I'm making is that a game doesn't need top-notch visuals to be a good title. It's all in the gameplay and the ability to immerse yourself in it.

Simple answer to this one. Basically, if you've been flipping through The Google over the past couple years, you've seen the pages upon pages of "Where's our 40K MMO!?" search results from nearly every gaming and fan site. People were starting to believe it wasn't going to happen, or that the project was dropped. Couple this with Vigil's seeming inability to update their own company webpage during development of both Darksiders -and- the 40K MMO, and that guess wasn't far off for the time. There was literally no word on it, save for Interviews and FAQs done 2 years before -that-. It was all so hush-hush that even GW was put to shame on the secrecy. So, out of fear of a complete consumer loss of faith in the release of their promised title, THQ started putting out the stills we saw late 2009/early 2010. Then they followed up with a few more stills and renders, and then the trailers. Basically, they're trying to win back lost consumer support after leaving everyone in complete darkness for about 4 years after the initial announcement.
All points agreed on. I like your posting.

Inquisitors have been seen, as have Guard. I'm guessing there will be female options for both. That comic isn't great, but illustrates the point well enough.

I haven't seen Inquisitors, I've seen tech priest but not Inquisitors. Inquisitors would be cool so can you show me where it says Inquisitors are in as a playable faction?
They're not a playable faction, per se, but they're one of the many classes in the Imperium faction.
There's one in a white robe a minute into the original trailer:
The same Inquisitor is seen quite a bit in the new trailer that's in the OP:

Why are you so goddamned stubborn about this? He doesn't have any Admech qualities about him aside from a robe, which is obscenely common. If there were the crenelations trimming on the cloak, sure. If he were more machine than man, sure. If he had a servo arm, sure. Hell, if he had a single Adeptus Mechanicus sign on him I'd give it to you. He does not. I think it's pretty obvious he's an Inquisition type.
E: Might as well continue this spergy rant for a little longer - it's important to have simple visual shorthands for just about everything in a game. When you run into a party you should be able to say "This guy's the caster, this guy's the tank, this guy's the healer" and so on. By having really diverse looks to the same class, you just create confusion for people playing. Marines will have more bling and different color schemes, but always maintain the same silhouette, for example.

Hey, that guy in the white robe is actually a Khorne Berserker! You see, there's already a distinct Khorne Marine in the trailer, but hear me out! NOWHERE in the codex does it say that Khorne Berserkers only wear red, or that they wear power armor, or that they use chainaxes, or that they don't hang out with Imperial guys. And while I don't see any explicit symbols of Khorne or Chaos on him, I don't not see any symbols of the Imperium on him!
See where I'm coming from guys? Guys?

This is about as bad as the time Green Blow Fly (or Black Blow Fly, if they're not the same guy) had a stubborn argument with pretty much everyone on Dakka for like 10 pages over whether or not a Baal predator in a picture was a conversion or a new plastic kit. He thought it was a conversion and defended it to the death.
He was wrong. I think he ended up buying Lunahound a devastator box or something. Now we just have to have somebody come in and make a bet with Kanluwen and get a free tactical squad or whatever.

Just because they haven't officially announced something in a VERY early trailer doesn't mean it's not in the game. I'd definitely say there's potential room for Rogue Traders and the like as the rogue-type class. After all, somebody's gotta look for traps, and it's not going to be the Space Marine.
