Well the title is the question but , why isn't he , the corsairs do have access to terminator armour and have terminator based soilders , considering he bionic wouldn't it make sense to fit him into some heavey armour?

Also why does everyone seem to dislike Huron an the red corsairs ?

Thanks

Hmmmm..... maybe terminator armour although poccessing better protection rather cumbersome and not really designed for hit and run missions where speed is the key which Huron prefers and also he might just prefer his power armour better or at least thats why I think GW designed him to be that way and also as for no-one liking him thats just are rare few as my cousin loves him and constantly plays him with his own red corsairs army.

Why does any Space Marine Chapter Master fight in power armour when they could have TDA?

I would think it would simply come down to personal preference on command- and/or fighting style.

Probably speed and agility , terminator armour is is the best armour protection as it is designed for short range , close up fights ( boarding actions etc ) but its huge bulk makes it slow and cumbersome over open ground .

Standard power armour is the best mix of armour , protection , flexibility and speed .

Huron went for the best all-round package .

And as soon as I posted that, but I saw a picture of a Huron model that Forgeworld is releasing, clad in Terminator Armour...

It's probably even more confusing that the upcoming FW Badab War update has the Astral Claws Huron modelled in terminator armour.

I think like this

Huron wear Termie armor during Baddab War.
After that,He badly defeated and injured heavily.
Huron thinks "Termie Armor is weak! If I could move faster I could evade enemy attack,so BRING ME NORMAL POWER ARMOR!!!"

Now Huron wear power armor with FLAMER!!!!

I like the Red Corsairs, and I have a good sized army of the scurvy pirates! I wonder less about his choice of armor and more about the fact he was only a veteran sergeant when he led the better part of his chapter and a couple of other chapters in rebellion. Talk about a charismatic leader!

terminator armor isn't perfect. if you read the 40k novels, you'll find instances where terminator armor could NOT be deployed. one specific one i can remember is in the salamander book. they were defending an iron warrior fortress they conquered that was being attacked by orks. the captain wanted to deploy the terminators on the walls to defend against orks scaling the walls but they couldn't fit through the doors/stairways to get up there so they stayed in the middle of the keep. there are other instances in novels of termies simply being too heavy for floors to support them without crashing through and they have to stay behind. you don't really encounter this in game but think of it in real life terms... you've got a 7ft tall steroid freak in armor that weighs as much as a subcompact car... and is as big as one also if propped up vertically on it's bumper. there WILL be times you can't use it the way you want to. chaptermasters frequently (but not always) wear artificer armor and have iron halos giving them *better* protection than simple termie armor in game and lets them fluffwise go anywhere a normal marine can.

Conversely since Huron blackheart is meant to be mostly machine now since the rebellion. He might favor the terminator armour more now for the added protection. Since the upcoming model is of him terminator armour. It would make for a good model if its an up to date highly cybernetic huron.

I've always read he was the Chapter Master of the Tiger/Astral Claws...

I've always liked Huron and the Red Corsairs. It's too bad the current model for him is crap. Maybe I'll buy the next one.

I was responding to Krak_kirby saying that Huron was a veteran sergeant, not saying that the Astral Claws didn't start/form the basis of the Red Corsairs.

The only thing I don't like about the current model is the head. Cut that off and supplant your noggin of choice and he looks 1000 times better.

If I didn't like Tzeentch and Thousand sons so much, I'd do a Red Corsair army.

The upcoming FW model is the pre-uprising version of him. So no cybernetics.

Ah thankyou for this information. Will keep an eye on this in case it might turn out to be a good conversion for an Iron hands army .
