Well, I'd consider a Honor Guard with jump packs and meltas.
The DC is not a must have.
Moreover, I'd replace the Reclusiarch with a Librarian with jump pack, shield and lance.
You need some psychic defense in a competitive environment.

I like this list. I do think one more Locator Beacon is necessary somewhere in the list. Any smart opponent will be aware that the Locator Beacon is the only reliable way for the Vanguard Vets to use Heroic Intervention, so it will be target priority number 1.

Not really.
Vanguard Vets benefit from the DoA rule when they deep strike.
This means they will scatter 3.5'' on average, and the roll can be repeated.

4 PF in the DC seems a few too many, you'd probably get good results with 2 and free up some points, maybe?

I think so too, I just want to try it out when I get the models. I'm used to having a super-duper deathstar unit, I may end up scaling the DC and VV down after the first few games.

As an aside, what do you guys think about skull white armor/black trim and 1/2 black 1/2 white backpacks and helmets army-wide. the inverse for DC, and swap white out for mithril silver for Sanguinary Guard? I'm going to name them the Knights Vampyr, with a very Blood Knight type of backstory.

I understand all that, I just hate leaving things to chance. I always prefer to utilize the aspect(s) of my army that can boost the certainty of my actions and decrease the chance factor. DoA does a good job with this already but I still like the idea of not scattering at all.

Makes sense to me, just seems like a waste.

Drop pod scatters 2d6", and beacon has a 6" range. so you have around a 25% chance of not being able to use the beacon for what you want. And your only scattering 1d6 anyways for DoA...

Just seems like fat to me.

I like the list. One thing maybe to scale down on would be the 4 PF in the DC ( as a relatively expensive unit in the first place ) though.Perhaps give them 4 PW to keep the extra attacks for the pistol and sword combo ( those attacks may come in handy ).

I am working on a Blood Angels list myself and personally I'd lose the Hvy Dread and go for a Death Company one as its got Fleet and is a little more durable - also I'd lose some of the Vanguard and go for some Sanguinary Guard as the miniatures are sweet and they simply tear through units on the charge. I'd also be tempted to drop some Death Company/Vanguard numbers or Power fists and take Lemartes and try and throw in a few flamers/hand flamers to take on infantry a little better. The Reclusiarch also needs a Jump pack - although I'm assuming you left it out?

I admire your power fist fetish though, if its worth taking its worth repeating! Hope this helps

also, I'd say a few too many powerfists

you could get another 2 dreadnoughts for the same price that the amount of powerfists you have take up

Pretty standard comments apply to this list.

No power weapons on the priests, they are a one wound IC with no invulernable save, dont make them any more of a target then they already are.

To utilise Death Company to their full potential I would suggest putting them inside a transport of some type, as this ignores their rage rule. If you dont your going to find that they can, by a compatant oponant, be forced to chase after a fast squad and not accomplish anything.

Assult Squads with a priest are just plain nasty, I love them. One of my favorite units in the codex. The only thing I would suggest with this is to either drop one of the meltas for a flamer or give the seargant hand flamer, as this army lacks templates.

I'm not 100% sure how many points your putting into that Vanguard unit, but you could probably drop them and pick up 2 more full squads of Assult Marines. Very rarely will Vanguard kill enough stuff to make their points back. Your going to have to use them very carefully.

One Dreadnought in a Drop Pod isnt going to accomplish much, I would rethink this stragey maybe going for a Predator or two.
