no time to make one? Really just need a tray, some primmer, a large brush and some cheap paint and you can just dry brush a decent one.

yeah but you gotta add terrain bits, and rocks are heavy...gesh!
seriously, i'm actually looking around for a suitable "tray" to use as a base.
i'm considering building it from the base up.

Although i recommended battle foams tray, i use a cut down sheet of quarter inch mdf, cover it in 5mm foam core. Stencil where i want my models to sit, cut round holes in the foam for them (or build a tank berm).

this helps to stop your models from falling over while moving from table to table. It also gives you a blank canvas to work on. Its pretty easy to model the board to match your bases
