Back in the UK and hating it

Necrons don't have many options right now, so giving them another vehicle would be good, also different weapons options for the warriors could be done (a heavy or a CC option).

Most of all, an updated dex would help.

we'll get it sometime in the near grimdark future. but that would be herasy. they need to put out at least 15 new marine codice first. oh and maybe IG. and Tau. and Inquisition. Tyranids. then Marines... then Orks. then Marines. then The Emperor (he gets his own codex) then the necrons that way they can just be beat down by the next codex that is released a week later... The Emperor 2.0 (includes all the Primarchs and new individule Chapter rules that negate all advantages of enemies of the Imperium may have and it will only cost $20.00)

Rending on flayed ones would be nice. Power weapons on wraiths. Make pariahs not undesirable. Another vehicle (at least a walker hopefully). Rework or abolish phase out. Rework C'tan (though I think they're fine as is, most people do not). Add another troop choice. Add another HQ choice. Make a better MC. Allow for more options on units instead of the standard disruption field on everyone.

There's a lot that could be changed about necrons to make them more desirable and more fun to play.

The necron line troops have always had gauss weapons, from when they were first introduced back in WD 217.

Read fracking massacre at sanctury 101, plus the original army list. It was Gauss weaponry. Not lightning guns or neo-plasma or whatever. Just pure Gauss from the word go. Nobody at GW envisioned anything different for Necrons. Heck, I even have the fething WD's of the release of necrons.

produce PROOF and I'll believe you. actually post the proof or a link therof on here. I could say that space marines had WS 7 and BS 8 because there used to be rules for them with that. (actually W40K MK2 had some pretty nice SM)

He's apparently talking about something else. Given their rivalry with the old ones was only introduced in the 3rd edition codex, AFAIK, I'm guessing it's background that was introduced then.

More likely, in my opinion, is that it's referring to the Necron Lord's Staff of Light, or describing the appearance of a gauss blast rather than describing a separate weapon.

read the part under before the enslaver plague. This tells you about the Lightning weapons used instead of Gauss at one point in Necron History. Even if they have not been used in game they still exist.

Apparently the codex had a unit that needed to be redone because in testing *Yes..apparently they do test* the unit was so over the top and slowed. Now, this is Matt Ward, if his Blood Angels got through with things intact..wtf did the Necrons have that had to be rebalanced 0.o

...no, actually it's not.

I'm not sure if people in this thread are talking about those guns that Necrons use that are for some reason called Gauss weaponry, or actual Gauss weaponry, but Gauss rifles are a real thing, that really exist. For real.

"Gauss rifle" and "railgun" are synonymous. Both are essentially a series of powerful electromagnets that propel a solid metal slug at supersonic speeds.

They're not molecule-flaying lightning guns, like the Necrons have. How GW managed to associate the two with one another has me scratching my head.

Anyway, I have nothing relevant to add to the discussion, so I'll just go ahead and stop typ

in necron fluff it is the same. instead of flinging a projectile it acualy suck matter in using an electromagnetic beam, the beam being the "lightning" and the gun being the magnet. its in the codex.

Not quite. "Gauss rifle" generally refers to a coilgun, not a railgun. The mechanism used by a railgun is rather different.

Then they changed the fluff for the stupider. They should have just left them as teleportation guns, like in the original White Dwarf articles. It was more interesting and made more sense.

I thought they pretty much were teleportation guns. As in teleporters take apart matter to a molecular level and put it back together elsewhere. Necron gauss weapons just don't care about the put it back together part...
