Baal Predator

Looks pretty straightforward. I'd give the Assault squads some special weapons.

preds really need lasc sponsons, youve got enough dakka already. Maybe some melta to take down raiders so you dont have towaste all your lascs on it?

I'd drop a baal and a razback, then you can get the lasc sponsons.

Devastators do not fit into the play style of the Blood Angels, a unit that cant move and fire, in an army that is all about fast vehicles and jump infantry..

I think its a good list, alot of firepower. The only thing I'd try and do is to put some meltas in the assult squads, as your still going to have some trouble takeing out AV 14 targets.

Going up to 1850 points, I'd start filling out the assult squads, or maybe switch some of them over to regular tactical sqauds to work some more heavy weapons into your list.

for going up to 1850 would 2 dreads in pods work with melta's?

the dread idea is ok
but what about a stronger hq?
dante with one of the assault squads with jump packs and melta would add something fun to the list. accurate deepstriking meltas mmmmm
and how about corbulo to one of the squads, he is as tough as nails.

Find points for meltaguns in every assault squad. If their razorback gets blown up, they need to remain useful.

Are your Baals assault cannons or flamestorm cannons? In my experience, assault cannons are more routinely useful, but Flamestorms are extremely effective terror weapons and scare the enemy; and once in a while they'll murder an entire enemy squad and win the game for you. Generally don't scout them or outflank them, you need to protect them with he rest of your tanks or they get side shotted easily.

Rest looks fine. Very similar top my 1750 list, pictured below:

For these min-sized squads in Razorbacks, there is no backup plan.
The Razorback should better survive (say, with 3+ cover saves behind a wall of Predators?).

why the infernus pistols it seems like you would never be that close to enemy armour, or is it there just in case you happen to be?

It could be argued that on the Baal's that the HB are unnecessary, especially if packing a flamestorm.

Mobility. Keep it. Oh and you could drop a dakka pred and upgrade the other two to LC sponsons, And you'll have 30pts left over. Now drop the HB sponsons on the Baal's you'll have 80 points left. Enough for meltas for everyone! And you'll have 30 points left. Probably buy 2 infernus or plasma pistols somewhere.

"Do not practice until you get it right, practice until you can not get it wrong." In other words, stop effing up.

Actually, the infernus pistols are very useful. Because Razorbacks can move 12" and still let the occupants out, you can get to point blank range very easily, allowing you to unload 2 melta weapons and a lascannon (from the razorback) into the side armour of whatever you like. Yes, stay at the back of the board and unload lascannons and autocannons into the enemy while they cross the board to get at you, but the inevitable Landraider or other lucky survivor will eventually get close to you. Also, if you find yourself uncomfortably close to a unit of terminators or similar, move the razorback 6", get out, then fire both meltas, the lascannon and two plasma shots into them. Tends to make things go away fairly quickly.

This list is really a contender.
