Hello,

Thank you everyone who voted in this poll. #5 is the winner followed closely by #10 which held the lead for some time. Since the schemes where so close I may combine them in some way but thats another topic for those of you who wondered (or even cared) what my favorites are it is each of the 4 finalists with the exception of #1.

This is actually my current paint scheme just so you all can see it.

Now here is the winning scheme

#5

And this is what I mean by combining the two winners (colors are not exactly the same but they're close enough for you to get the idea).

Thank you for the suggestion, I used the wrong code from Dakkas gallery that's why they didn't post. But I fixed it

meh. except for a couple at the bottom (like #10) I don't think I'd bother.

I think this exercise has shown how hard it is to make a good tau color scheme.

@ Ailaros: Besides 10 what others do you like?

And I honestly don't think it's that hard to create a paint scheme for Tau. My problem is that I can't decide on which one I like and want to apply to my whole army

That being said there are a few in here that while I like them I woulden't use them. I just put them in here to see what peoples opinions are of them.

I like 1, 8, 9, and 10. Basically you want either two bold contrasting colors (that aren't opposites) or two colors that are similar.

That or something cool like have one of the two colors be a camo pattern.

I've seen a lot of bad tau paintjobs in my day, and many of these choices would be just that.

See that's what sucks, a couple years ago a bunch of pages fell out of my codex (making it even smaller then it was when I bought it ) and I threw them away thinking I woulden't need them so all of the Septs that are shown in the book I don't have.

For some reason I'm thinking that 1 or 2 of those that I posted are actually in the book right?

Well the fluff for my army is that they are a cadre from Fi'rios. In the fluff Fi'rios was once an Ork planet and it cost the Tau alot to take the planet (I'm assuming this means soldiers) so my cadre is going to have a large amount of auxiliries to make up for what was lost so that is going to be my armies theme. I suppose I could do a arctic theme with it but I'm not really looking to have an environmentaly themed army (although I will admit I made some of the schemes with certain environments in mind). And we'll just have to wait and see what the final vote says I'm not sure how much longer I'll keep the poll going but if ! choice really outstretches the others or the thread dies I'll anounce my choice

@ Phototoxin: If you did mean 1 that is actually my paint scheme that my Tau are painted in now. I have 1 unfinished model in my gallary that shows it (it's a bad pic though).

@ johnscott10: Yeah I made #2 because I've never seen an orange Tau. And I've decided to call #10 Orca Fatigues as that's what they remind me of.

I was kind of surprised that I have gotten so many responses and I've been surprised by the way some of the voting has gone at certain points.

What's wrong with your original scheme?

Personally I like the original painting schemes (T'au and Sacea) best followed by your old scheme (Falshia like). But then again, I like sticking to the original fluff.

I picked #1, if I was going to build a Tau army I'd paint 'em something like that. It looks pretty nice and it would be a change to the (quite) dark scheme I've got going on with my orks. Also I haven't been painting any pure whites before so I'd (hopefully) be learning something new in the process. Well, that's my two cents anyway...

Hard for me to choose because I like both 9 and 10. I'd say 9 because there's very few Tau in my area that are red. Remember, you don't have to paint their skin blue, either.

It's old. It's been the paint scheme for my Tau for 10 years I want something new.

I've taken out the schemes that had the lowest votes below 4. If anyone wants to see those that I took out just let me know and I will put them back up in a reply but they will no longer be voting options

Well boys and girls (and men and women and everyone else out there ) the thread has died down, the votes are in and it looks like #5 is the winner followed very closely by 10.

At the begining of this thread I said I had a few favorites out of the schemes and aparently you all agreed with me because with the exception of #1 you all voted for my favorite schemes and I would like to thank you for your votes.

As a sort of compromise I am thinking about using the main armour/cloth scheme of #5 with the green lense and white markings of #10 but I will probably just stick with 10 as is. Again thank you all
