I'm just wondering but how heavy would the stuff in 40k weigh?

Not the orks, because they use nowadays materials, and just pile it on, but stuff like the thermoplastic armor of the eldar and the massive armor of space marines.
How heavy would a battlesuit be?
How much would a wraithguard weigh?
Would a terminattor crush you if it landed on you, or would it just mildly mangle you?

please enlighten me with any idea of the weight placed on the imperiums shoulders as traitorous terminators fell downwards to squish them all.

Dunno why I thought this up...

Sticking his nose into this thread

Yeah, termie suits would be really heavy. they're supposed to have a built in power supply to help the guys inside them move but i dont think a termie would be able to jump on you. if they could i dont think they would need powerfists except if they charged a vehicle. termies would never be the same.

imagine that... death by squishing. XD

nononononono.
they have transmutator beams that change stairs into disabled-style ramps.
And also they have three modes for their shoes, aside from the normal one, astro turfs, studded and high heels. With monomolecular tips

If the high heels had mono tips, wouldn't they just sink into the ground?

Well considering a Space Marine is a 350+ lbs 7-8 foot tall bodybuilder juiced out even more and on rightious zeal and they can't RUN but jog, I'd say pretty damn heavy. Now put that guy in a something like the prototype cave suit from iron man one but THICKER. I'm pretty sure you would die if he fell on you. I think a termie suit would probably weigh at least the same as the guy inside most likely more. So say hypothetically a 400 lbs suit plus 350 lbs marine that's 750 lbs plus the gun and the powerfist. If he fell on your torso or face you would probably squish. I'm gonna say a bolter probably weighs around 25-30 pounds. A .75 barrel that has a 1/2 inch wall thickness. then you have the magazine, the action and you need weight for recoil reduction (and for clubbing people).

When you can literally walk through concrete walls, I don't think Not being able to Run is not a problem.

True when your 8ft tall your jog is a normal persons sprint. people up stairs would not pose a threat as the marines just walk through enough walls and the building falls lol.

Lighter than chainmail armor, or lighter than chainmail for say, bit for bit?

I remember that thread!

Back On-Topic, I'd imagine Eldar armor to be very lightweight since it looks more like a wetsuit covered with plates than armor. A terminator could squish you, but luckily no sweeping advance means that they're too slow to do so.

Well, I lol'ed like a school girl.

Daemons must weigh something, otherwise how could GD squish things?

I always imagined a space marine in regular power armor weighing about as much as a small car. Between 500 - 700 lbs. Not only are they 8 foot tall bodybuilder-esque men, but they have dense bones, fused rib cages, extra organs. The power armor is layers upon layers of armor and technology which by itself i'd imagine is at least 200lbs + a power supply which could be another 100.

ok my turn for some farcical logic!
if master chief is essentially a lithe space marine, and he weighs 1000 lbs in his skinny ass armor then power armored marines must be like, 1 ton with all their stuff, and termies must be like 2 cause they take up so much space and a rhino can't support their weight...
as to the bolter, i figure its probably only slightly heavier than an AA12 shotgun as it has to light enough for a squishy human to weild easily(albiet with two hands) since they suffer no initiative penalty for weilding one and they can be held in one hand (as seen by inquisitors and such who are posed with them aloft
and then a storm bolter is probably only slightly heavier as it is shorter in length than a "true" bolter

as to the eldar, I imagine that incubus are probably how big master chief would be in terms of appearence compared to marines, so banshees and such are probably wearing like, hitech versions of modern military combat armor

My friend read so much books about 40k and he told me that in one book there was conversation between guardsman and marine.
Guardsmen wondered how heavy marines armor was and he said that it was 750 killos.

A Leman Russ weighs 60 Tonnes, a Basilisk weighs 40.

A suit of power armor is supposed to be too heavy to walk in for Space Marines without the power source. So probably some two to three hundred kilograms.

The really suprising thing is how heavy super-heavy tanks are, and presumably titans. A Baneblade is 319 Tonnes apparently... so the scale is well off.

EDIT- Constantine I have read most of the Black Library catalog over the years concerning the Space Marines. If it's 750 Kilograms, then the Sororitas must be hell strong, because theirs is unpowered and is the same apart from the unaugmented strength, while still allowing full freedom of motion. It weighs less than 100kg.
