The Big meks ride with the Nobz to increase their count from 10 to 11 thus granting fearless. My FLGS loves holding tournaments that are 2500 points and I was wondering what kind of list I should be worried to play against.

The list is pretty straight forward, I move 13" forward (even through difficult terrain and buildings ). Next turn I do the same thing and assault. If my opponent moved closer to me with vehicles, I will tankshock them into oblivion, failing that there is the boarding plank.

I am personally scared of playing bugs and have the hardest time with them, I was wondering if anyone played a similar list against the bugs with any success?

Right behind you. No, really.

i have played a 1500 list which is pretty similar, and i wrecked nid face. or at least what passes for a face to nids. you tank shock the crap outta the monstrous creatures, then wreck the infantry with the boys. also, the kff mechs stop the wagons getting beaten up by those annoying psychic powers

Were they running a venomthrope? Were your models being the victim of the sinister "Your WS 1 and hit everything on 5+"

The Tervigon, Venomthrope combo is what really kills my list... that is to have a screen of guants with FNP, Furious Charge, Counter assault, and 4+ poison that require your models to take a dangerous terrain test to assault. Which means 1/6 of my models take 1 wound, I go at I1, and it is possible for me to not even reach the intended target... To add injury to more injury, almost every turn the guant screen can reform. A crafty Nid player could easily make it so you could assault only Guants and control the pace of the game.

3d6 spawns 10.5 guants which will be rounded down to 10...

10 go at I6 (Furious charge) 20 attacks, 10 hit, 7.5 wound (Poison and S4) means I lose 6 boyz if they charge me, I fight back with my 13 boyz and Nob. 39 attacks, 26 hit, 13 wound, 11 unsaved turns into ~6 after FNP the Nob adds another 2 dead guants ... That means they might lose one more guy but have tied me up for the turn. (9 guants killed v 6 boyz lost)

If I charge them 1/6 of my ladz die because the Nid player will run a venomthrope, so 3 bite the dust. Going at I1 for lack of grenades matters little when the buggers are I5, anyway countercharge goes off and I feel 20 attacks, 10 hit, 5 wound and 4 ladz die. My Ladz fight back with 48 S4 attacks 32 hit 21 wound and 18 are unsaved but this changes to 9 after FNP. The powerklaw finishes off the last guant. While winning, I have truly lost as they will smash a fresh unit of guants into me. (10 guants killed v 7 boyz lost)

The only solution I can think of would to shoot the screen but that would take 9 S4 ap 6 shots to kill one guant. I have Skorchas but I would have to move 7" instead of 13" that turn. I also thought about tankshocking past the screen into the heart of the problem (The Venomthropes and Tervigons) but with fearless troops, they just surround the vehicle so I would have to rely strictly upon the rolla to deal about 6 unsaved wounds or a few to the Venomthropes...

What do you guys think? I have though about adding Ghazghkull and burnas boyz but it is finding the room that remains the problem...

the only way to get rid of those nasties is to make shure you hit them with your deathrollas. then assault however you want.

but always deathrolla first.

Funny story, I'm running the same list at 2000 points with minor changes. I'm running burnas, and only have 2 Nobz squads. IMO, you need burnas in this list. I cant even express how much pain they cause once they get into range. Not to mention you can either wipe out infantry or assault using their PW attacks. I'm in your same shoes. Nids give me the most trouble and i cant figure out a solid tactic against them.

All in all, awesome list but drop a squad of boyz and a few nobz for the burnas. It will also add some dimension to your list. Right now the only thing you have are boyz and Nobz. Also, try to find a way to add in a couple single deff kopta units with buzz saws. I run 3 in my BW list and they help so much.

Hope this helped man.

Right behind you. No, really.

yea tank shock right through the screen into a mostrous creature, possibly killing. if you have ghazzy TAKE HIM!!!!!! he took down an avatar and a wraithlord in one game!!!!
having 6 deffrollas is the key here being able to do up to 36 s10 hits a turn is awesome. Build the battle strategy around the rollas , and then wreck whatevers left with the boys.
