I need help with a very important decision. I’m looking to get a custom-made Indiana Jones leather jacket for my husband as a surprise birthday gift. The only problem is what leather to have it made of. I want it to be tough as ork hide painted black yet appealing to the Emperor as cleansing the Eye of Terror with holy promethium by Inquisitors of the Ordo Hereticus. My options are: soft Authentic (seal) Brown English lambskin, Authentic Brown Goatskin, Dark Brown Lambskin, Washed Goat, Dark Brown Horse hide, Pre-distressed Cowhide, Soft Seal Brown Cowhide, and Novapelle a soft Duatone cowhide. Please help!

Whichever you buy, when you give it to him, wear nothing but a smile and he'll be fine. Good luck.

If I am not in my room, is it still my room? |

I'd go with distressed cowhide or horse hide (or even something heavier if possible). The jacket outside should be rough and tumble, and as rugged as you can get it.
If you then want to add a touch of glam, I wouldn't soften the leather, but soften the liner. I'm imagining black tanned belting leather with a white ermine liner or something. That or just something generically soft on the inside. I'm thinking something like these:

I've no idea what you're talking about but just wanted to say thank the Emperor that men like us can have wives like you.

Dawwww, I'm just doing what any respectable rogue trader's wife would do: search for the best (and best looking) apparel, fight off anyone less worthy, and obtain it. Who knows? I might discover a heretical plot and get to use heavy flame thrower along the way!

I'm a little freaked out that you signed up to a Warhammer forum to talk about leather jackets.
But Horse or Cow is the chosen leather. Lamb, Goat and whatever is really thin and flimsy.

I'm going to second this recommendation, regardless of what leather you choose...
Just don't ask him to choose between you and the jacket.

right, this is the problem.
If you ever give him something while naked, you've actually put him in an uncomfortable position. Either he looks at the gift and fears recrimination from not looking at you, or he looks at you and resents not being able to look at the shiney new gift you got him.
Give him the gift first, and the nudity later.

You obviously don't know women Ailaros. Either way you're in the poo so it doesn't matter what you choose!
It's just a womans way of sticking the knife in and feeling justified about it afterwards.

Of course, you're all overlooking the very best way of doing this.
Give it to him wearing nothing but the jacket AND a smile. That way, he can look at both the jacket and your... smile... at the same time!

Of those choices I think the Horse hide or, if available in that color, the distressed cow hide are the best bets for 'tough'. Seal and lamb, while georgeous, are very fine and soft to the touch. I'm not sure about goat.
I would love to know who you're going through to get this done. I'm in the market for something similar. They have a website?

Having been in the leather biz..... Horse or cow. If you are looking at the Indiana Jones style jacket, cow is more authentic. Seal and lamb tear quite easily if snagged.
More exotic leathers that would work are elk and buffalo (bison), though these tend to be heavier in actual weight

Of all the races of the universe the Squats have the longest memories and the shortest tempers. They are uncouth, unpredictably violent, and frequently drunk. Overall, I'm glad they're on our side!

This was actually exactly my point.
Although, I'd assume most women do this (do any women actually ever do this?) out of not having thought this particular thing through than out of a particular sense of malice.

Most women (in my experience) have already thought this out...as well as the hundreds of thousands of other possible outcomes and reactions...and then they hold you responsible for the reaction you *could* have had in their mind....
Women are nuts, but I love mine!
Oh, and as far as the OP, horse or cow. Lamb is wonderfully soft, but hardly durable.

I'm going through Wested Leather. They made the original jacket for Raiders of the Lost Ark and are the best priced I've found. Their website is http://www.wested.com/indiana-jones-9-c.asp . Hope this helps
