I am actually tossing two in this thread.

I always followed "standard" color schemes when painting previous minis, but I was wondering. If I choose to just pick my own custom color scheme for my Ork army, rather than say Snakebites or Bad Moonz, that won't cause any issue when playing casual games, correct? I won't be missing out on any sort of special abilities or advantages by not going with a commonly known ork force, right?

I looked in the rule book and some other forums but could not get a definitive answer, other than flavor text saying "there are thousands of possibilities"!

My second question is about using a matte laquer on finished models. I am using a light coat of Krylon clearcoat matte finish on my completed models. I was advised to do this by another player at my local shop as a way to
keep the paint from chipping over time / keep basing adhered. Is there any advantage or disadvantage to putting a clearcoat on your models?

Any input on either of these would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

haha of course not. The rules stay the same, wether you play snake bites, deathskulls or 'da silly pink boys'

...urrrr... I dunno

Yeah, nobody is going to try and penalise you for having pink and purple boyz, though you may get some strange looks.

I always encourage people to come up with their own paint schemes, as GW seems to have never heard of a color wheel and sometimes picks the worst looking colors for their armies. I do prefer that Ork skin stays green, but that's just my personal preference.

Some people do spray their models to help the base last as well as go some way to protect the paintwork. No harm in it really.

Yes, Orks should be green and apart from that any colour goes really.

Don't forget to add red to the vehicles though 'cause it makes 'em go faster.

If I am not in my room, is it still my room?
