hi, i've been looking at so many assault marines with thunder hammers- but when i bought one, it didn't have one in. what's up with that?
and what plastic models in power armour have them? i'm so fed up of having to model them!

kk, thanks- i still wanna find out where those th arms are from- there's one on page 37 of the how to paint space marines book, one on the battle of cold steel ridge in the apocalypse rulebook (an assault marine sarge with a th killed a trygon), but i think they're the same model. where are they from?! think they're from the 4th ed. assault termies, but they're held in the left hand, not in the right. they don't sell the power armour th and ss, they sell the termie ones.

Can't find the apoc pic, but the SM book at p37 clearly shows the metal PA arm with thunderhammer from the Iron Hands set.
Dunno if you get it seperately, but the bitz-pack is still available from GW.

They're these:
http://www.games-workshop.com/gws/catalog/productDetail.jsp?catId=cat440277a&prodId=prod1400033
I've noticed that the new boxes don't show the Sarg with a TH.
I've got a set of these, they're very nicely sculpted :-) and they're definitely power armour, not terminator.

You are 100% incorrect.
They only sell the power armored ones, not the terminator ones. Much to my disappointment when they arrived.
These are powered armor thunder hammers. Take a long look at that arm (I wish I had). I can assure you these are powered armor arms.

The USS Orinoco was a Federation Danube-class runabout that was in service with Starfleet in the late 24th century, attached to Deep Space 9. It was outfitted with a sensor pod.

Those are pretty cool for metal models.
Other than them, Space Wolves have them in a box set. Don't know about any others.

They're resin. I've only made one mini with them, but they were very easy to work with. Very little flashing to remove.

Again: nope. those are the metal TERMINATOR bits, for the older, SMALLER metal terminators.
With scale creep, they could be used for PA ones, but they are still a smidge too large for it.
Give GW five years and then they'll be the TH arms for grots (by then they'll have released54mm pre-paints because their sculptors have all gone blind from sculpting skulls onto codpieces).

Original poster,
Here is a picture of the Thunderhammers that I posted the link to, above. This is a command sergeant model I made for my Black Templars. Also in this picture is the Crux Terminatus (Terminator Honors) POWER ARMOR shoulder pad that comes with them. In the previous editions, you could give certain members of your POWERED ARMORED squads terminator honors. Like my 4th edition Black Templar Codex, for example. Also included is a 2nd or 3rd edition terminator with thunderhammer. Decide for yourself. I'm moving on from this conversation.

Just in case anyone else needed any more proof, here's one of my GW PA thunderhammers next to a GW PA chainsword
There's also very little scale creep in the SM line (excluding vehicles), that's why you can use 2nd ed metal heavy weapons with the new kits (which I have done in the past)

I have taken this on board, and bought the PA TH pack. nice hammer detail, but glueing was a problem. Next time, I'm using a hobby drill.
