Traded my orks for some older marine models and some AoBR stuff simply so i can focus on my BA for now.
Along with the game came a model thats nearly as old as me (im not that old)
A mark X dreadnought.
Was part of the space crusade set, but i want it in my army since it still looks great.

Problem with this: It doesent match my dreads by any means lol (all ironclad base models)
Also, the 4 arm's could be a real pain.

My initial thought was to use him as a dread with TL weapons (2 sets)

So, left arm would have to be twin linked missiles or autocannons (these would go on the top-back set of arms)
Right arm would have to be either: TL heavy flamers, Hbolters, autocannons or las cannons.

How would you feel about playing against it?
It would be WYSIWYG when it comes to weapons (1 set of 2 weapons per TL)
Also, i will be chopping the old base and mounting it on a dread base.

For those who havent seen the ancient beastie, fest your eyes on the olden days when GW were a caring company

The one i have has the 4 arms sections.

These arent my pics, since i dont have my can at the moment, but i will add in some later

Right, so...

First, these are actually the dreadnoughts from the Space Crusade game by MB, the models for which were made by GW. They were never released as separate 40k models, as far as I know, and I've never heard of a 'Mark X' before.

Also, as Space Crusade models, these are techincally Chaos Dreadnoughts, but I guess you can use them as either.

If you only have the four arm one, I guess I'd use him as a TL Las and Missile Launcher dread, since it's gonna be difficult to fit a CC weapon on that. I'd mount two lascannons on the bottom and two ML racks on the top frames. You could convert the ML racks from sentinel Missile Launchers...

Thanks Ian

Im only going by what i managed to dig up on it via google

I knew it was from space crusade, but that was all i knew.
Also, got the Mark X part from a thread on B&C and another french forum (google found em)

After a quick bit of hacking i managed to sacrifice an old tri-las pred i had.
The sponson las fit well under the weapon sections.

As for missiles: Any way of ordering them seperate?
Dont want to have to start buying kits just for a few parts.

Origional idea was going to be the HK missiles from the ironclad set, using the housing that comes with them.

Sponson las are now fitted to it, along with the targeting systems that come with it.
Got the hammerhead sprue on order now too, just want it for the missile pods (4 in total)
Which should work out ok.

Ill also get pics up tomorrow.

Hi - there are two big Bitz services based in the UK

http://www.bitsandkits.co.uk
http://www.bitxbox.co.uk

They're both pretty good, though I think Bits and Kits has the best prices. You could use HK missiles, but they'd only be one missile, right? I'd have a search for.

Sentinel Missile Launchers
Land Speeder Typhoon parts
Old Whirlwind Parts
Cyclone Terminator Missile Launchers.

All of those have a more 'rocket pod' look to them...

The four weapon one came in the expansion for Space Crusade, Mission: Dreadnought.

Taller legs, four 'arm' weapon mounts (in addition to the two underslung heavy bolters that the smaller one also had).

This one:

Is armed with (L-R, T-B) Missile launcher, conversion Beamer, Assault cannon and multi-melta.

I'm OVER 50 (and so far over everyone's BS, too).
Old enough to know better, young enough to not give a ****.

Ian: Thanks mate
Going to go for the sentinel ones.
The cyclones look a tad small.

all this reminds me of the 1st armoured core game

Scott: Im tempted to buy 2 smaller 2 armed ones next for 2 more dreads. (kind of like this theme)

chrome: Thanks mate, didnt know it came from an expansion and was wondering why i could only find the 2-arm ones in sets
and thanks again for telling me the mystery weapon lol.

Was wondering what it was, but now i know its a conversion beamer (May use this in my iron hands army)

Right, status as of now: Going to order some missiles in a sec for the best, then scan ebay for more dreads.
Love the look of these things and want atleast 2 more 4-armed ones and 5 2-armed ones.

With any luck this is the start i need to get a iron hands army going with strong mechanicus ties. (had alot of ideas, but done nothing with them yet)
