If you've read all the Soul Drinker books you know that at the end of their latest book "Hellforged", Sarpedon (too lazy to look up name in book sorry) is beaten by Lysander and that Captain Lukko is to have the Soul Drinkers surrender..

What is your thoughts on the future of this Rouge chapter?

Are you thinking about Daenathos? (sorry if i butchered the name) because that's out already if you're talking about a different book then awesome otherwise i like to think the few remaining marines were tried by the Fists and found guilty of a bunch of crimes but their good deeds outweighed the bad and because of this they are set free and the inquisition are told that they escaped and legged it or were put to death ( i know it's unlikely but i can dream).

One thing I could never wrap my head around was how Sarperdon could have sprouted spider legs and concluded that it was a blessing from the Emperor. Doesn't anyone else think this is off?

Actually i think they find out it was all chaosy and bad but think hell(Or sci-fi equivilent) with it and try to make the best of a bad situtation something many people in 40k don't do.

If the IF are portrayed correctly , there is no future for the rouge chapter...

But maybe some centuries in the pain glove?
Or a penitent crusade, if they're lucky.

It would be awesome if they were allowed a penitent crusade to be honest.

Et In Arcadia Ego

Canterbury

After the aforementioned limited edition book the next in the series is "Phalanx", which will initially be serialised in the new "hammer and Bolter" ezine before being collecetd at a later date in paperback form.

..I can only really see them dying in some heroic fashion, they deserve it.

The poor man really has a stake in the country. The rich man hasn't; he can go away to New Guinea in a yacht. The poor have sometimes objected to being governed badly; the rich have always objected to being governed at all
We love our superheroes because they refuse to give up on us. We can analyze them out of existence, kill them, ban them, mock them, and still they return, patiently reminding us of who we are and what we wish we could be.

I'm thinking along the same lines, but I have a feeling that a few might escape somehow, maybe Luko because he's so badass, and leaving it with a cliff hanger or something.

Didn't the chaplain and a bunch of Soul Drinkers stay behind on the world they helped defend? If so, I have a feeling they'll be back.

If the next book is called Phalanx then that must mean the Soul Drinkers are to be held prisoner on the IF Battle Barge Phalanx where they will probably be interrorgated by the Inqusition, but somehow they battle out of the Barge and Escape.

I like the sound of them becoming a penitent crusade chapter. Awesome series of books. If it ends they NEED to go down in some big blaze of glory. Any other ending would not be fitting.

Given how heavily mutated they are, especially their #1, the BEST they can hope for is the "Honorable Renegade" thing.

Much like my version of the Alpha Legion!

In the 40K Galaxy, once you go down certain roads, there's no way back.

At least not to 'official OK with the Imperium' status.

I've got it, they will go and have Fabius Bile fix 'em up, and then have the Blood Angels get pissed and have the two authors collaborate on a messed up fluff book.
