After reading his thread about wanting to convert a female farseer for his army, I offered to make one for Brainslap on commission. The creative juices got flowing and I hit the bits box with a vengence. He liked the idea of the model being fielded as either infantry or on a jetbike using the heavy weapon platform to counts as, as well as having magnetized options for sword or spear. Here's what I came up with:

The greenstuff I bought from the FLGS has a skin over the yellow that doesn't dissolve into the blue, leaving little tough, yellow bits when I'm not able to catch them. I used milliput to fill in the arm sockets. Internet cookie for whoever can guess all the bits I used to make her. She had started off with a rune over her chest area, but it covered up the parts that made her visibly a lady so they came off. Unfortunately, glue marks were left but shouldn't be a problem after painting. There's also a magnet under the base so she can stand on the jetbike.

Two of the (eventual) three arm options: witchblade and singing spear. The final option will be a staff or sceptre to represent Eldrad or "Eldradina" if you will.

Here's the jetbike counts-as. The shots I got don't really show off the inside of the "hover chariot" - what I've been calling it - but it's pretty spartan, just the control panel and the matching magnet to hold the farseer in place. I just saw the mouldline running across the bit above the shurikens. I'll make sure to get that before sending it out.

The model slides into and out of the chariot from the rear and the magnet's strong enough that it's not going anywhere. I haven't glued the flight base on since it could break during shipping, but it holds nicely on its own. My only wish is for the gs I used to smooth out properly. I'm pretty sure it's old given it's lack of workability, but I'm not sure that GW would do much about it given that I've already used some of it.

So.... questions... comments?

wait, your GS gets those lumps too? And it's not just from improper mixing? I thought I was the only one.

On a more relevant note, that is an absolutely awesome farseer. I love the jet-chariot. Any chance we could get some pictures of the back of the bike?

Wow. Very inspiring and creative. Can't wait to see what this looks like painted.

No earth shattering, thought provoking quote. I'm just someone who was introduced to 40K in the late 80's and it's become a lifelong hobby.

Looks nice

Also, those small lumps are part-mixed GS.
Generally its from the double strips.
Due to this ive taken to buying it seperate, rather than blue/yellow together.

With the first GS I bought (now used and gone) I learned that the little strip where the two meet never blends into the mix as a whole. This is a different situation altogether though. The yellow actually has a toughened skin on the outer layers that has to be scraped away to get to the softer yellow inside. If I don't scrape it away I get horrible lumps in it, no matter how well I blend, knead, mix, etc. but otherwise performs great. Sometimes in scraping the soft yellow off the skin, some of the skin comes with it and I'm not able to catch it before getting it on the model (as happened here) but I think I'm going to go with non-GW greenstuff in the future just due to the cost.

I've got a shot of the bike from the rear, just wasn't very interesting so I didn't include it. I'll get it uploaded tomorrow. No guesses on the bits? Most should be obvious, but there's a few toughies in there too.

Maybe you can sand the lumpy greenstuff flat? Can greenstuff be sanded?

Greenstuff can be sanded.

Not as well as Squadron Green (my preferred green filler putty), but yes, it can be sanded. GS doesn't set as hard, so it does take some extra effort.

I'm OVER 50 (and so far over everyone's BS, too).
Old enough to know better, young enough to not give a ****.

Pimp daddy smooth Jetbike. I feel an idiot just typing that.

As for the bits, my stab in the dark is as follows:

Head: guardian
Chest: Tough one. Guardian, or high elf spearmen
Arms: High elf archers! Or possibly High elf mage?
Legs: High elf Archer
Cloak: Im not sure. Maybe Mage kit again, but thats a stab in the dark.
Crest on helmet: No clue.

Im not going to even bother attempting to work out the bits for her jetbike.

How'd I do?

Sounds like you got a really, really old batch of GS. I don't know if GW bought too much of it, or got a special price for older stock from whoever they bought it from to begin with, but even just the tough joint between the two strips is a sign of old GS. Fresh ribbons I've bought from elsewhere haven't had that problem. And for the yellow to be skinning over, it has to be either faulty or ancient.

The tubes with the two colours completely separate are definitely the way to go for longevity, though.

Interesting take on the jetbike, by the way.

The Farseer I think needs the rune armour extended up onto her chest, but otherwise, it looks the business. Nice job.

Thanks for the reassurance on the greenstuff, Insaniak. I mentioned above that I tried the runes across her chest, but they really obscured her lady parts and made her look very much like just another farseer, which was contrary to the request of the client. Unfortunately, the lumps in the green stuff are almost like flakes and I don't think they'd sand down very well.

Sorry I didn't get the rear shot up today, but there's always tomorrow.

@ghosty: not too bad, but there's some bits that you left out or missed. Clicky if you want to know, but hidden for those that still want to guess

Spoiler:
The legs are actually from the high elf warrior, with the chainmail shaved off and the waist sculpted to fit the guardian torso, which had the shoulder vents and back shaved down to smoothness to accomodate the cloak from the HE noble. The arms are from the HE archer kit along with the sword, but the sword hand is the DA power weapon hand attached to the archer arm. The spear is from the HE chariot kit, along with the head-crest-thingy. It's off the end of one of the rails, which was then drilled with pin vice to get that eldar look. Glade rider knife, DA shuri-pistol.

The bike's the upside-down bottom half of a heavy weapon platform. I had used the top half in my Dark Reaper Wraithlord conversion, so it was all I had left. The front is from the HE chariot, the sides are the shield from the HWP. Wings from a Vyper, along with the shuris. The bottom sides and the jets that you can't see in the back are from the heavy weapon sprue.
