Hey.
I've tried to use Simple Green to strip my lizardmen minis. The minis have been in the simple green for 2 days, and I scrub them with a toothbrush under some water when I take them up. But there are a lot of paint that wont come off, so i have to use a needle to get the rest off. Sometimes a needle doesn't even work.

I've a pic of them:

Does anyone know what I am doing worng?

Your not doing anything wrong its just that some paint stick to the minis really good! lol i use superclean and i get that sometimes and superclean is alot more hard on the paint then the simplegreen. i suggest trying to put them on some superclean and if that doesnt take out the paint. Just paint them over again with primer

For metal, any acetone should do the trick in short order - just soak em in nail polish remover.

Do not do this with plastic.

Some paint is difficult to shift. Simple Green might not be powerful enough as it's a cleaning product not a dedicated paint stripper. When it comes to metal figures I use Nitromors and very little stands up to that.

I use this stuff called Nitromors. Judging from your profile flag it may be hard for you to get it but it's a general purpose paint stripper. It's a clear jelly you paint on and within seconds you'll see the effects, use a scrubbing brush and the paint and jelly will rub off easily. Don't get it on plastic or resin or it will permamently ruin it.

Edit: Also, don't get it on your hands, eventually you'll get used to it but it'll burn your hands for a bit if you splash it anywhere.

Could you get away with putting it on plastic for a moment? Nitromors shifts paint so quickly it doesn't need to stand around but I'm not testing it on anything I need.

I wear rubber gloves but it feels like it's burning through them, almost like a heating effect that makes my hands tingle. But once run under the tap and taken off my hands are fine and untouched, what's up, is it reacting with the gloves?

I also use this product and it works wonders. Since I've started using it, I never use Simple Green, it just can't compete in terms of effectiveness and cost.

What i have previously done is to literally put a bit of nailpolish in the solution, not too much, just half a teaspoon and it should help speed up the process, ive done that for a High Marshal that i won at an auction at GW. The paint came off after about 2 full scrubs

If you get it on bases it may be ok, but it would ruin anything with a certain amount of detail on it.

Never used it with gloves, I simply put up with the burning feeling. I suppose it could be reacting with the gloves so I would be extra careful when using it.

I just use brake fluid on metals.
Works wonders. Strips them back to bare metal.

Soak for 5 minutes, pull out and give them a scrub with an old toothbrush (while wearing gloves AND face protection).

Until the paint comes off. Should only need an hour or so.
