Nice take on the old battlewagons. They still retain the look of the old ones, but more suitable for GWs current orks.

Great job.

yeah, the stock old armorcast ones are a bit too plain for the current generation of ork models but are still nice models. nice job sprucing them up, especially in regard to the battle damage. if you ever want to have an old but new tank fight, pm me and i'll bring my RT turned to crusader land raider.

I'm glad to see i'm not the only one who appreciates an old model!

Awesome battle wagons mate, it takes some balls to carve up old kits like that.

I saw one still in it's box go for over £150 on Ebay the other day!

Looking forward to seeing these painted

Warboss, they are GW Plastics, not Armorcast. I have two myself, one heavily converted to be a hardtop.

Though guards may sleep and ships may lay at anchor, our foes know full well that big guns never tire.

Love those old skool wagons. Nice job updating them!

As requested I posted a more pics, and yes you are quite right the models themselves are quite expensive to come across on eBay.
Although I set myself a limit at £20 each and considering a friend was buying the ork trucks to convert for his Imperial guard army it turned out not too expensive,
considering he gave me all the bits that he didn't want.

And the ones that I eventually got were a bit battered and bruised but that didn't matter at all considering I was going to convert them anyway.
The Problem is now I just need to get another 3 as I want them all the same.

just show the size with ork beside the models

I always wanted one when I was young but bought a land raider instead. I just assumed they would be available longer than they were, but for some reason that I've never been able to confirm they stopped making the battlewagon and Landraider. What gives, did they break the moulds or something? Stranger still was that it took about a decade for them to make new models which made it a bugger to collect orks, all they had were bikes/buggies until Gorkamorka came along and they had some trukks too.

Never thought of doing that - great idea. I have one of those models gathering dust (I've used it sometimes as a boss's trukk, but it always felt/looked a bit silly somehow) - I'll now definitely consider using it for a similar BW conversion.

Below you'll find some of my most recent purchases.....more rogue trader battle wagons! You can check out the link below to see the ones I have already finished.

All 5 back-to-back and as you can see they look pretty dominating

as I know how to do them now and I am really pleased as to how they have turned out! and I have tried to add more detail which makes them look better with the use of more plastic card.

I have learnt that I love rogue trader battle wagons more as they are great! The model itself has not dated at all as it was out in the early 90's and I am still in love with it.

(Hobby Update) Started To Paint Black And Square On My Orks Battlewagon

I have just managed to find time for another hobby update, like any ork player being able to paint black and white Square properly always comes in very handy for any project, so below you will find a couple of useful hints and tips to get you well underway.

First thing is do not use white straight out of the pot as a base coat it's better if you use a light grey to start you off as if you just use white it can stand out like a sore thumb.

So once you've decided what areas you're going to paint its time to start filling in them squares, so make sure your black paint is thin down with a little water, as you will find it easier to apply.

As you can see it's important to apply your base coat evenly and it's even better if it's a little transparent, as it all adds to the effect of the highlight

The outline does not have to be neat in some ways a little bit rough makes it look better

So there you have it in the next stage I will show you how to highlight all the little boxes, which really does make them stand out. So make sure you try and incorporate some little black-and-white boxes into your next project, as I think you'll agree nothing Look better.
