Now don't get me wrong... I love the mars pattern Reaver forgeworld produce, but getting the curves right when scratch building is difficult,
added to that the fact that my warlord is a Lucius pattern and I'd prefer to maintain some uniformity in my Legio.

<Rant>On a different note something that niggles me is forgeworld's IA Siege of Vraks II. Every titan in the Legio Astorum battle group is depicted as Mars Pattern, regardless of the fact that Legio Astorm is based on Lucius forge world</rant>

A photo from construction, currently wearing the Volcano cannons from my Warlord, I designed the arm slot so that they can share weapons.

... a Melta cannon on the right arm which is actually slightly better on the Reaver than the Volcano cannon. I've squared the design from Forgeworld's Mars Pattern, mostly for simplicities sake, but it does look more lucius...


... Finally we have the left arm Titan CCW, the fingers are all movable as is the wrist. A complete waste of time on any titan, but it does look cool.

Well I'm slowly painting the exterior of it as you can see, and will try to update this as I do. I'll also be building up the interior and making some more weapons options.

Looking very good I'm a huge fan of the Lucius reaver (which is why I'm also building one )

Did you use a pattern on this one or is it all your own design ?? And the Legio Astorum problem in IA is something I've had a bit of a problem with myself, as even the warhounds are mars pattern. That is why my Legio Ignatum (mars based) warlord and reaver are both lucius pattern, cus if forge world can do it, I can do it as well

Can you post some pics from more angles ??

There's a good template out there by Steve & MMX. The weapons and head are my own, with minor modifications of my own elsewhere.

The basic interior, I plan to put a 9V battery in the hole and wire the weapons up as they are on my Warlord.

I also plan to put a detailed interior in here, again, the same as my warlord.

Looking very cool bob, it will look very impressive on the battlefield. I dont have a great fondness for the big missile , it looks a bit free standing if you know what I mean. Great work non the less!

I deliberately made my reavers head a little bit bigger than that of the forgeworld model as I thought it looked better on the lucius design that way.
Not a big fan of the vortex missile, I'd bulk it out a bit as it looks very fragile How near to completion is this model ??

So the consensus is that the vortex needs redoing. If I make the carapace pivot mount larger and bulk out the launch rail would that do it?

I'm currently making a mold for the crew chairs and legs for both the warlord and the reaver, but photos of pink mold rubber drying over 48 hours ain't too exciting

Sounds as a great solution I think
You should definitely make a thread for the warlord, it looks great
When the molds are done you should cast something up and show here too.

Yeah, I'm not sure of the speed at the moment.

I previously made a terminator with powered assault cannon, but the vibrations meant it Jiggled about on the table somewhat

I wanted the Gatling blaster to be slow rotating, at the current gearing it revolves at 6rpm about once every 10 seconds.

This is a bit too slow I think

I'm currently using two 42 tooth cogs with 2 worm gear inputs. I have some smaller 30 tooth cogs...

... quick bit of maths ...

Using the 30 tooth cogs would make it around 12 rpm, rotating once every 5 seconds.


The other problem is that the LEDs on my titans require 9-12 volts to be bright enough, though that would easily burn out my motor which should only be running at 1.5-3V

Anyone know what resistor I'll need?

Out of curiosity, how tall is your reaver (and your warlord)?

@Dreadnote: the Reaver stands at 16" to the top of the carapace, thats excluding the top weapon mount.

I had to add a support beam to the Gatling so it can still move

I've painted up the crew, but not the actual cockpit, and i still need to tidy things up a bit



My feeling was that the Princeps is a bit old for one outside an ambiotic tank. maybe he doesn't trust the systems on the aniquated reaver's ambiotic interface. Maybe he's awaiting advancement to command of a Warlord before entering the tank. Or maybe he's just a cantankerous old b****** who won't listen to reason.





I do need a name for the princeps, any suggestions?

And here are come descent Latin names for a Princeps- Adrianus Felix, Marcus or Antonius

Hopefuly the names are High Gothic sounding.
