My brother and I had a dispute about the chimera rules and were hoping dakka can figure it out.
1: Can a chimera drive through a deep water terrain feature as if it was clear terrain? Deep water being water deeper than the height of the chimera.
2: If it can, is the chimera considered to be driving on top of the water or below the water?
3: Can the chimera end its movement phase in the deep water even though it is a water feature that is normally considered impassable terrain?
4: If it is considered moving under the water, can it fire and be fired at, or does it get a cover save, or can it not fire or be fired at at all?

1) Up for you to decide pre game.
2) See #1.
3) See #2
4) See #3.
In short, you have to define what the terrain can and cannot do pre game, as per the rules for setting up the terrain.

3. yes, it's amphibious
4. see #2
There is no definition of "Deep" water. there is Impassable terrain which can take many forms. Impassable water may be "Deeper" then normal water and so is impasssable, but i would never say the chimera is below the water.

It can traverse the atlantic if it so wishes.
Any water is fine.
Aint no submarine so i would say on water.
They treat it as normal ground anyway, so they could, but nothing else unless it has a special rule. (i think?)
Again, ontop of water, tis no submarine.

Water is water.
Chimeras treat all water as clear terrain.
Chimeras never move under terrain.
Pretty straight forward.

As much as I respect you Gwar, Jesus Christ!
With the water, the chimera would drive at water level, so it depends exactly where the water level is. If its painted onto the board, of course drive over it normally. If you have a river through your terrain with imaginary water in it, wherever the water level is, and if you have awesomely poured water into a crevace in your gaming board....I tip my hat to you!

although i dont have an awesomely poured water section on a gaming board, joan, I have been thinking about a possible winter project of making a gaming board where 1/3 of the board is a beach and having a chimera invasion from deep water. If i try to pull this off i assure you there will be some awesomey poured water

This. They aren't submarines. They are amphibious dedicated transports. All water counts as clear for them.
