OK. I recently had an incredible Idea that would:

A: make up 90% of my army, since we all know that chaos land raiders are so over priced
B: probably still pulp face on the battlefield
C: put me in mre debt than I care to think about.

I was thinking that I could, for troops, take 6 squads of 10 khorne berzerkers. Take 3 land raiders for heavy support. Take 3 termicide squads with dedicated land raiders. At the beginning of the game, stuff all the berzerkers in the Landraider. Move forwards.

What does dakka think? I dont plan on doing it, but feel free to do so yourself

And your HQ choice is?

Hopefully his HQ would be Kharn w/ 9 zerkers in one of the raiders, since if your going to field 59 zerkers you might as well have the baddest one of them all leading it!


That said while it might be fun to play, the 3000 odd points against you is probably well suited to destroy your 6 vehicles by that point.

I'm being lazy and don't want to look this up, but isn't that about 1500 points in Land Raiders and 1500 points in Bezerkers? How many points do you typically play? It sounds like Apoc size games and then we're talking about opening up all kinds of things like Reaver Titans walking the battlefield.

As fun as it sounds, what you just described is about 3000 points.at 3000 points, and with all the melta people are using these days, you might have some trouble.

However, it you want to be really really cool, you CAN fit 6 land raiders into an 1850:

Chaos lord
5 CSM
5 CSM
3 termies LR transport
3 termies LR transport
3 termies LR transport
LR
LR
LR

This is just shy of 1850, and has 6 Land Raiders. While far from top tier, it could surprise people, and most certainly make for a fun game. Its a list I have thought about before.

Dumb idea bro. I'm assuming your termies will be LC or something? Yeah, it doesn't work as well for chaos. When you have LR variants, sure. But you don't. You'll be stuck with 12 lascannons that'll probably cause little damage beyond other tanks.

Melta is a standard now. There's no way to completely avoid it. You could handle land speeders and possibly other tanks, but I wouldn't count on it.
