Wow, GW found a way to advertise more of their own products! When you view a product, on the right side of the page there's a little thing that says: 'Have you Got?'

Check it out. It's really dumb. I was looking at dante and it suggested a rune priest in terminator armour..wat?

Just felt like sharing

It used to be "related products"

"Praise Be To The Omissiah!"

"Three things make the Empire great: Faith, Steel and Gunpowder!"

Azarath Metrion Zinthos

Expect my posts to have a bazillion edits. I miss out letters, words, sometimes even entire sentences in my points and posts.

Yeah, it used to be "Related Products". This way, GW is free to advertise unrelated products and the title wouldn't be deceiving.

I was looking at a box of Tyranid Warriors and it asks me if I have Necron Warriors and WHFB Chaos Warriors. Nope GW, I haven't 'got' those unrelated products.

You say unrelated...I say they all have "Warriors" as a relation

It looks like part of the criteria for the new system is price. When I looked at "Apocalypse: Reload" it showed all the other $29.00 supplements, when I looked at the Cadian Command Squad...it showed the Sentinel, a $24.75 Cadian Shock Troops Squad, and the Battlescape---all at $25.00 USD.

Oh come on, they related products thing is similar to the one on every commercial website. I'll admit sometimes the products aren't related at all, but it's not some cheap and horrible gimmick.

Some people play to win, some people play for fun. Me? I play to kill toy soldiers.

I can't believe a company would stoop so low as to resort to advertising its prodcts on its own website.

Though guards may sleep and ships may lay at anchor, our foes know full well that big guns never tire.

Poor html coding. they limited the criteria to price and common words instead of just suggesting other models from the army the person's looking at.

Well, plus it's not "Related Products".

It's something as vague as "Have you got?".

That's true. They insist that you own every model from every range and every army.

Yes. Obviously, how diabolical that they want to make money...

$20 says they'll be adding a feature within the next few months that allows you to set what armies and game systems you play.

Doesn't make sense....here I am buying a loota and it shows me a space marine librarian and a WHFB something or other... why? target practice? Seriously, I'm sure there are shoppers dumb enough to fall for that but most stores stock (visually) related products together. It's like going to the cleaning products isle and looking to buy pudding or something.

discombobulation commence.

It seems to be working for me. When I'm on the main pages for each FOC slot for particular armies, it doesn't really match, but when I click on a particular unit, the "Have You Got?" always seems to correspond to the army. I clicked on Striking Scorpions and to the right I got Have You Got? Harlequins, the Avatar and a War Walker.

Earlier I clicked on Seekers of Slaanesh and got Daemonettes, Bloodletters and a new Daemon Prince.

I dont mind it, the only time I'll see that feature is when I'm browsing their products. Adding a few random hyperlinks to the side with other products makes sense. And just like Kanluwen said its probably just in beta now, its gonna be smarter in no time.

When it worked it worked. I don't see any problem with the "Related Products" or even a "People who bought this also bought this..." system, like the one Amazon has (or even Iron Wind Metals).

The part that gets me is how What's New Today went from hobby article, to hobby blurb with links to buy everything in the article at the end.

You mean you don't!? Shame on you!!! =p

But contrary to popular belief I find this useful . . . sometimes . . . Mainly when looking at a new army. As it allows you to hop around between models without having to go through all the different menus to get to what you want.

But yes, when you know what you want it can be quite random and annoying, and they certainly need to improve the HTML to only include similiar models from the same army/range.
