I go up against orks, mostly 1 biker warboss, 5 nob bikers, 2 trukks, 24 boys and 2 deffkoptas(probably due to change soon. And now other player has joined which he brings tau, not sure on the build as he is still working the list. We play heavy COD scenery, so not to much room for tanks and the like to get around, lots of terrian tests and what have you.

Blood Angels at 1000 points struggle because they're not so "ground based".

My thoughts are this:

Tone down your HQ.
If you're doing ground pounding consider Death Company.

Landspeeders are good, but marine numbers count:

Possible list:

Librarian
Infernus Pistol
The Blood Lance & Unleash Rage

ELITES

Chaplain
Infernus Pistol
Melta Bombs

This is what I would run. Lots of Melta for the Trukks, and the VV will carve through the nobs. While your Assault Squads handle the boys with Sanguinary Priest support.

Librarian
Jump Pack

Honor Guard
Jump Pack
4x Melta
4x Flamer

Sanguinary Priest
Jump Pack

Assault Squad
Meltagun
Sgt Power Fist + Hand Flamer

Assault Squad
Meltagun
Sgt Power Fist + Hand Flamer

Vanguard Veterans
Jump Packs
4x Lightening Claws
2x Hand Flamer
2x Infernus Pistol
Sgt Lightening Claw

Comes out to 1000 points exactly. Thats 22 Jump Marines that will be able to move around your CoD table with ease, Honor Guard will be Trukk killers, Vanguard Vets are Nob or boy killers. I get sweeping advance kills against Orks all the time with them kitted out like that.

Try to use your Honor Guard in support of your Vanguard Veterans, there is a strong synergy there. If you can get the VVs in range of the priest within the HG and grab FNP/FC then your running 1 initiative step above standard marines. With all power weapon wounds, re-rolling "to wound", you will decimate Terminators and most other non Characters. After Heroic Intervention, or instead of it, you could join the Librarian to the Vanguard Veterans and use Unleash Rage, adding re-roll "to hit" along to their re-roll "to wound" from the lightening claws.

Don't forget to shoot though! Use those flamers and meltas!!

Should be able to roll-up that ork list without much difficulty. Tau will be even easier.

Tacticals don't play to Angels strengths. Plus those flamers won't get into range. You want Assault Marines with Dev support for long range shots.

Cool, thanks guys, you have given me something to think about with those lists. Did chuck the tacticals in for some flavour but taking a wide awake look at it they would get left behind.

I would consider a Recluisarch with a jump pack for your HQ. I would run him with Honor Guard kitted as such (jump packs):

Novitiate
3x lightning claw & stormshield
power fist & stormshield

This is your heavy hitting unit in close combat, you reroll hits on the charge, plus Furious Charge as well. HG & VG seems like a lot of points for a 1000 point list, with only ten Marines total to show for it. This way you get the best of both plus you don't need HI versus orks. The rest of the army I would go with assault squads as you can run down trukks and blast them with your meltaguns.

Honour Guard need mass special weapons, not close combat. All those upgrades make them really expensive and with a 3+ armour save will get get blasted like normal Space Marines.

You want something like that, then take Terminators.
