Usually I tend to keep to a strict base for an army:

Tyrant or swarmy
thropes or hives (or both)
termies and tervies
gargs
trygons and a tyranno

However, this style of play is starting to get really boring to the point im losing interest in nids (i didnt see that one comming)
So, ive decided to walk a new path with the army.

Granted, stealers are pretty heavy on points, but they do however get the job done from what ive seen in a few games.

So, need as much advice as possible please.

Im thinking of running 2 units of 20 termies (will be converted to hybrids with borers)
And for the main core im thinking about 4 units of stealers.

Now, upgrade wise, whats best?
While i love the broodlord, he seems a bit nerfed this edition, but i may be wrong (and hope i am)
If he is worth taking, do i go all out and grab one for each unit?

Also, HQ wise i was just going to run a cheap and cheerful prime to keep points down.
However, to keep with this theme he will be an old patriarch model.

Was thinking of running him with stealers, but they wouldnt get to fleet (not good)
And i'd also need that synapse near my termies (unless i drop them for more stealers)

So, all advice welcome and wanted please.

i am liking stealers a lot in this edition, but i look at them almost solely as a broodlord delivery system. outflanking a 3W T5 genestealer with a 4+ save to clear out and claim my enemies objective feels great. if i am playing anything over 1250 points and fielding genestealers, I find the points to put a broodlord in each squad. the psyhic power Hypnotic Gaze has stopped a many a PF from attacking as well.

toxin sacs changes the regular stealer slightly by being able to wound on 4+ with rerolls against all T4 and below. and it is just too nice. add in the extra rends from the rerolls and you have a solid CC troop choice for 17 points. i still look at genies as just ablative wounds for the broodlords.

one thing to remember about stealers in this edition is that they are NOT fearless. they can and will break and run after losing combat. that is why it is important to either have a midfield synapse anchor to catch them as they flee or an upfield synapse to keep them locked in combat (mostly by a flyrant, trygon prime or podded zoanthropes)

if you are going to bring a tyranid prime, dont put him with the genestealers. like you said they will lose their fleet and that is bad. put the prime with your gants and use the gants as ablative wounds/screens to deliver your prime into CC mid to upfield.

for HQ, i have been bringing a kitted out flying tyrant w/Old Adversary and Hive Commander for the +1 to reserve rolls. i field her pretty conservatively until the party gets started.

make sure to have at least a few units like gargoyles and hive guard for your opponent to shoot before the genestealers come in.
