So when I was thinking about normal citizens how would they get from A to B?

I think it would depend on the type of world. In a short story about an agri-world, the technology was advanced only to the point of using large iron trains.
In most hive worlds, it seems that nearly everyone lives within walking distance of whatever they may need.
But there are also the models for shuttles sold from FW, so I'd guess that regardless of the world, if you're rich enough you can get some kind of flying contraption!

Indeed. Such as Eisenhorn's cutter which was a small craft capable of low altitude flight aswell as space and warp travel.

Magrails, Street cars, small speeders and cutters, bulk transports for going between worlds. Richer citizens have sleek Limosines as well.

to be serious though.

It depends entirely on how advanced the civilization is. maybe one world has learned to harness a complex tubing system to effortlessly transport people and goods to nearly anywhere. Or they are so low tech they are still using tamed animals to pull their makeshift carts and wagons along.

but for normal imperial hive worlds.. im seeing flying saucer-majigs

They still have ICE powered vehicles for civilian use, along with mass transit (many BL books, normally guard, where trains are mentioned) and good old fashioned waloking.

The lower down the scale you are, the more your movements are restricted anyway.

I can't begin to fathom how you pwer something with ice.
I saw a picture of an imperial city or part of it anyway there seemed to be a monorail system for public transport.

The answer is 'pretty much anything'. Feral worlds people walk for days or use animals, technological worlds have aircars and the like for the well-off, poor people on tech worlds walk or take variations of subways and busses, hive cities have elaborate elevator systems, and at the high end the adeptus mechanicus probably has a few places set up with all teleporter tech.

I doubt you'll get far by simply telling it to go right and left. (Yee and Haw are the commands for steering donkeys and some horses).

More advanced planets would have some kind of mass-transit system for the populace.
Larger manufactoriums would have employee dormitories around them for their staff.

Dan Abnett mentions them several times (MTS) in his Ravenor and Eisenhorn books.

One of the many many reasons to hate Henry Zou.

But yea, in one of the Eisenhorn books, there were a few chapters where they were riding an Orient Express style train. It was pretty awesome.

Regardless of quotefests, yes. Every type of world would most likely have vastly different types of transportation.
But the real question is, what are their "gentlemen's clubs" like?
