Does anyone know of an efficient way to transport these monsters?

I am moving soon and I am trying to get my miniatures ready for the move. The only thing I could find that fits them are a double wide tray from Sabol. Those things take up too much space in my already overflowing bags.

Is there a better way to move these guys around? I took mine to Adepticon wrapped in about a hundred plastic bags from the supermarket. I placed that in my backpack, checked it and it survived the trip both ways. I don't want to do that again.

So, if anyone knows of a good container to transport and store Valks in, let me know. I have two and a third on the sprue that I will assemble at some point.

Thanks.

Reece,

Really man, are you asking this? Check out Battlefoam they have a tray in there that works on the battlefoam bags which are the way to go. I carried two vendettas and checked them with my 732 bag to Germany for the ETC. They survived and took no damage to Germany and back to the U.S.

Hey bud.

Yeah, I prefer battlefoam's products as they are higher quality and can fit more miniatures per tray, which I need, but I have a ton of sabol stuff and it is easy to stick with the same bag. I was hoping there was something out there that people knew of that would either fit in a sabol or that was a stand alone product that would be easy to get my hands on.

I have been looking for an excuse to get one of Battlefoam's bags though, and I guess moving is as good an excuse as any.

You have the 732? I'll have to check that out. I can order one from my local.

Thanks for the info.

Yeah, they have baneblade trays too, which I also need. I think that the solution is clear.

Thanks!

I went from 4 sabol army transport bags, motor pool and the battelion divison bag to one 1520 and a 720... It makes a HUGE difference. You take the before and after shot of how many foam trays and how much room those trays take up you will notice it.

Yeah, good point. My main issue isn't money right now, it's space. My bags don't hold all my armies.

I stuck with Sabol because I have so much of their stuff already, but looking at how much more efficient battlefoam's stuff is I have no reason not to put at least my IG in a 1520 for now. Sabol bags are actually really good for most Marine sized stuff. It's my IG and my new nids that are giving me trouble. They just don't fit that well with their big and weird shaped models.

I have the army trasnport, motor pool and division, too, plus some random stuff like GW cases (which blow).

I think you sold me! It is the only realistic way to store and transport my Vendettas and Baneblades, too.

You should ask Romeo for a commission! Hah.

I assume you at least left the wings unglued for transport, right?

Anyhow, I'm looking at making my own custom foam for vehicle transport, same issue as you.

Nope, I had the wings glued and they were fine.

Yeah, same here, I glued the wings on.

The Battlefoam bags fit the complete Valk with two russes and two sentinels. That is a nice way to go.

Ah, you glued the wings. I can get mine to fit into a 4" standard Sabol tray, but that is with the wings off (the wings fit into the same tray). Battlefoam is certainly nice; I'm looking at buying one of their 1520 bags for my army in the not too distant future. Tanks take up a lot of room!

Good old box with bubble wrap has worked for some friends of mine. They just do not want to spend a large amount of money on transport bags.

Main issue is getting a bag or container that will fit the Valkyrie. If you didn't make the wings detachable this can be difficult.

You can make additional trays out of the pluck foam you pluck out just have to glue it together onto a cardboard backing cut to the right size with a felt covering. You also can buy foam at the craft store cheap and cut it yourself to fit what you need.

What are people using to transport the mech heavy armies these days? It seems like even a 732 is too small for some armies with all the vehicles. I don't really want to go 1520.

I go to a lot of tournaments, so I think the steep price of battlefoam is worth it.

I just went through all my IG models which currently barely fit in a Division, their biggest bag, and all of it plus two vendettas and two baneblades fit in the pack 1520. Nice one! That just barely fits, but considering I rarely use the baneblades, leaves plenty of room to expand.

The 1520 fits in the overhead compartment of an airplane, right?

The double wide Sabol foam tray is perfect for transporting either a Valkyrie/Vendetta or the IG Super-heavy tanks.

Here is a photo of my Vendetta in a double wide tray:

If you magnetize the wings on your Valkyrie you could easily fit two in a case (the wings for my model are glued on). A Motorpool case can hold two of those trays.

For the larger IG tanks the tray can hold two tanks easily with extra room available for accessories like sponsons. I have a Stormlord and Shadowsword both in a double wide tray and could provide pictures if you were interested.

Yeah, I considered that, too. I went ahead and ordered some Battlefoam. One bag will hold so much more stuff, which is great.

Thanks for the pic, and yeah, post some of the super heavies if you don't mind. I am sure people would like to see that.

The aluminum tool box with the wooden inserts that Home Depot sells can fit 3 Vendettas/Valkyries in it.
